  1. Heard it from her father, he is an intelligent guy, but could have heard wrong. This was apparently an over the top affair. They flew in a distinguished clergyman from overseas to officiate. I don't even care for culling and editing the 500 to 600 shots I get on my yearly charity shoot. Been procrastinating for a couple of days, rainy day, so no excuse. Thanks for your response!

Been told that the bigger/expensive the wedding the bigger/expensive the divorce. But what would I know? Married in a women's clubhouse and have only been married for 51 years.

  2. Note: In the interests of balancing performance and quality, the topic of image file size and dimensions as normally posted to this recurring thread is under discussion elsewhere in the Nikon forum (the topic is obvious when you look) - please check in there and comment if you have thoughts to share! That's the best place to talk about that particular topic. For now, consider keeping uploads no larger than 1600 pixels on the long side when it matters, and sticking with 1000 pixels when the image feels no pain at that resolution. On data size/compression, try to keep things under 1mb, shooting for 600kb when you can stop there. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site (at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc). Are you new to this thread? The general guidelines for these Wednesday threads are right here:
. For now, we're sticking with 1, 2, or 3 images per week as you see fit.

Over the weekend, the missus got in a couple hundred rounds of practice with a new tool. Small hands, so some things are just a bad fit. Despite stiff competition from Austrians, Germans, Italians and Czechs, this one went to Ruger, made in Prescott, AZ. A keeper! So I had the camera out shooting some shooting - what was everyone else up to? Go!

    Great grouping by the way.

  3. Friends, I did some checking and the Monday in Nature and Nature Unlimited threads have experienced a deep decline in participation, to the point where, over the past six months, we have only seen 10 or more responses to any given thread on a very few occasions. Compare this to as recently as late 2020, where most threads received 15-20 responses, and some many more than this. Single-digit participation was by far the exception rather than the rule. I sincerely and emphatically treasure my association with all of you. I wonder, though, if we are all receiving benefits from these efforts commensurate with the effort involved in making these threads happen twice a week. My personal situation currently is somewhat distracted, with business issues demanding more and more of my time and attention. I'm wondering if other regular participants would be willing to kick off these two threads each week should I be unable to do so? How do you all feel about this? Is there enough interest on your part to simply start the threads if you see I've been unable to do so? I will not feel usurped in any such case. I'm hoping we can all agree to share the load a bit, at least for a few weeks or months. If we value our opportunity to participate in this forum I'm hoping this is not too big an ask. Please share your thoughts and feelings on how we can best support and encourage one another. Thank you, David.

I look forward to these posts, even though I am not able to post as often as I should. I think maybe more people are going back to work and are concentrating on getting their lives back together after the pandemic.

Please keep it going. Besides, I have photos I do want to post.

Thanks for the great job you have been doing. I know it can be a strain at times. Maybe being able to post more than one photo?
