1.
Mikael - I realize now how general my question is, but I appreciate you taking the time to read and respond to it
Peter - I think I need to get over my age/experience and look at what I have to offer when thinking of a price. What I have a hard time trying to understand is editing price. I think I will need to contact local photographers and see what they offer and go from there. Why do you have the waiting period of 6 months if you give them just watermarked images? I'm assuming there is a difference in price then.
I still need to talk details with the family in regards to what they want. How long they want me there will alter the price (among other things).

Thank you for your help Peter & Mikael

 2.
I am a 21 yr old amateur photographer with 4 years of photography experience. I have shot various events from college commencement to sweet sixteens.
I was hired to shoot a bat mitzvah. I will be just taking pictures at the party and editing all pictures and delivering a cd to the family.
I am not sure of how to price this for the family. Should I offer $x for 4 hrs and then another price for editing hrs - if so, what can you suggest? What other suggests might you have?

I appreciate your help

 3.
John & Gabe - I do have a 70 - 200 mm f/2.8 lens. I just have to work with it more and get more accustomed to it. I was having trouble with it the first time that I used it so I just stuck to the 170 - 500 mm lens because I thought it was the best one that I have. Since everone is saying that lens is great, I will definitly try to understand it more.
William - Thanks for all of your suggestions. I am going to read this many times and understand all of what you said and do a little trial and error.

Thanks for that good rule of thumb John. I've had to get used to shooting pictures for the newspaper instead of just for regular fun. The types of pictures that are good for the paper are different so I've gotten a little better with it but I'm still trying to improve.

Thanks for all of your help everyone!

 4.
The large lens is 170 - 500 mm. I also have a 75 - 300 mm lens.
The sports I cover are both indoors and outdoors. I am considering a flash. However, I am not sure of which one to get. I considered the Canon 580 EX.
I already have a case for all lens.
I heard that the type of memory card you use changes how fast the pictures are taken. How true is this? If so, which cards do you recommend?

Thanks for all of the help William and John. I really appreciate it.

Zack

 5.
I am searching for equipment to buy for my school's newspaper. Things I already have: large telephoto lens, monopod, 40D canon camera.
What other things do you suggest I should get
