    Tony,

thank you for the positive feedback and suggestion.  Yes, I have already enhanced the contrast a bit... maybe not enough, I just try to keep the colors as natural as possible. I will try to improve on the sky a little bit more.

    Thanks

    Regards

  1. Hi Alf,

I like this bw version because of the texture and layers in the sky, no need of colours at all. I also like the proportion between foreground and sky in the composition, the rocks line up create a good perspective. Good job.

    Best Regards

I like the overall mood and tones in this beautifully composed pictures. I like drama created by the overwhelming clouds and the reflections on the water. Well done

  2. Alf,

Love the reflection of the clouds and rocks on the water.

Composition is well balances between foreground and background, I would not change anything. I like the rocks on the background, they add perspective to the scene. I like the drama in the sky and contrast between dark clouds and patches of blue sky. Kind of sky I am always hoping for.

Overall light is very well managed. I love pictures like this one where the colours are natural and well balanced.

    Congratulation again.

Ps: “I hope to hell I get out of here before the bloody light gets too bright”..I know the feeling :)

     Best Regards

Thanks all for the valuable comments… I am glad you liked it

@Elton: noted. This was a spontaneous shot in the street, maybe some elements should not be there. I can work on a different crop, thanks

Beautiful composition and reflections, I like the sharpness of the rocks :)

For the sky, it might be possible to bring out more details playing with the graduated filter in Lightroom , so that the rest of the picture is not affected.

I would try to reduce the highlights first (without changing the contrast), and maybe add a touch of clarity (just a little). See how it goes.

    Regards,

    Francesco

  3. Thank you for all your comments, I am pleased you like it

@Alf: yes, the Devon region offers many opportunities with its dramatic coast, and the weather is very changeable opening up to different scenarios.

    Alf,

    Thanks for the comments.

Weather is so unpredictable in that part of the world.  I was lucky to have at least one morning of sun during the short staying. The location is bucks mills in Devon
