1.
Ann Mallard , thanks, yeah, those places are pretty much what I had in mind.
tom winberry , thanks! I didn't even think about those kind of places (watering holes). Definitely will check that out.
Craig Gillette , yeah road closures could be a bummer. I wanted to go to yellowstone but that won't happen. I think I'm gonna go to utah area first and around mid April to those areas you pointed out.

 2.
Just got my 2-week notice so I'm gonna go crazy taking pictures (finally!)--April, the whole month. Will southern utah be good? Maybe places with waterfalls, because the snow is melting, right? I shot anything: mountains, rocks, flowers, rivers, yeah, all the landscapes. I've done a trip along the west coast (Orange County to San Francisco) so I've had enough of beaches.
Will drive, will hike. Possibly anywhere in the US. I live in Anaheim, CA.
Anyway just drop me the name of the places and I'll look up it further. So many possible places just don't know what's in their best shape in April.
Thanks in advance!

Why aren't you simply using the PW directly in the hot shoe?

Would you believe me if I said that I tried that and it didn't work? Would you believe me if I said that the instruction said that the PW was to be mounted on the hotshoe and also connected to the camera via a PC cord?

Turned out it works just like that!!!! PW mounted on the hotshoe and nothing else. Whoa! It's been a long day going back and forth the camera store. Next time time I should verify things with the store attendant.

Thanks!!

 4.
After getting adapter this and adapter that, now my Nikon D90, an SB-600, and a couple of pocketwizards are working in harmony. The thing is, the setup ended up different than what I've seen: a pocketwizard mounted to camera's hots shoe.

My setup is (on the camera side) a D90 with Nikon AS-15 mounted to the hot shoe, and a cord running from AS-15 to a pocket wizard. Tthere is a lanyard for the pocketwizard and is hanging on my right wrist while I'm holding the camera. Seems awkward--is this how you guys do it?

I am getting ready to do one of these for 2011, but an actual composition of course. This one while nice in effect, lacks the impact of a well composed still image, which is what I think these need at this point in time.

How are you planning to have the camera on the same exact location throughout the year? Are you gonna mark it? Leave the camera on that spot for the whole year?

So you have decided that the computer should do the manipulating of the photos whether it is right or wrong. That's an interesting decision...

I'm not sure what you tried to say there. I set the WB to Daylight when taking the pictures, so the resulting pictures are close to how I saw the scene (which means a white paper will not always appear as white).

 7.
I went to an office party in a restaurant/bar with tungsten lighting and I took some pictures with setting daylight WB, RAW, and no-flash.

And now in Lightroom, I'm staring at the BEFORE (warm tone from tungsten) photo and AFTER (neutral tone after tungsten WB is applied). I feel I need to adjust the WB so that I won't be considered a rookie for not knowing how to select proper WB setting. But on the other hand, I want keep it as it is because otherwise I feel as if I stole the soul (what?) of the scene.

So I was wondering if you always feel the need to correct the WB?

 8.
My ultimate lenses someday are the following and the filter size for all them is 77mm
10-24, 17-55, 70-200
So I've been buying 77mm filters/adapters only. I only have 10-24 from the above list. I also have 18-200, 70-300, and others but I don't use filters with them; only with 10-24 for landscape shots and the like.

 9.
Limited time. Do I want to take a day off to go on a vacation or a photo trip? No, vacation and photo trip don't go together for me. But I'm not worried much--can't have everything. So what if I don't have any unique pictures and all I got is golden gate bridge (san francisco was my first and only photo trip)?

After the first delivery attempt both Fedex and UPS will leave a tag on the door. I then call the 1-800 number and have them hold the package for pickup at the Fedex/UPS facility

I can't remember which, Fedex or UPS, but they won't let me pick up at their facility after the first failed attempt. They insist that I can only pick up the package at their facility only after the *third* failed delivery attempt.

 11.
I just saw Ashton Kutcher with Nikon D300s on TV. I've seen him often with D90, too. But I don't recall seeing Canon's TV commercial--seen P&S, not DSLR. I watch mostly local TV channels. Probably I will see it on G4? Just curious, really, of Canon's marketing strategy. I did find Canon DSLR commercials on youtube.

 12.
Manual metering is no biggie when you have access to histogram these days and once set you don't have to change it. But I won't recommend manual focusing for your purpose; it's not the easiest thing to do. Just try manual focusing with your current lenses and you'll probably miss a lot of shots.
