This shot is my favourite in your portfolio. You've caught a wonderful, dream-like feeling that, to me, suggests the moments after a late-afternoon rain shower. Nitpicking, I find the slant of the horizon from left-to-right distracting, and I'm not sure that the empty loungers in the foreground contribute much to the photo. However, I really enjoy he wet sands and gritty tones in the sky.

The reflection in the glass makes this photo interesting, but there isn't enough of the ceiling to put the image in context. Instead of focusing on the pedestrian, I find my eyes drawn to the abstract patterns in the glass and it leaves me wondering what the building looks like.
  1. At first, i was put off by the harsh perspective and lighting you've presented in this photo, but after some thought, I decided that it effectively conveys the closterphobic feeling that the neighorbood occupants must experience.

Great timing. However, I find he blends a little too well into the player and coatch standing behind, and i wish his feet were not cropped out of the frame.

My eye heads immediately for the light balcony at the top of the frame, but I feel that the panio is the most interesting part. Why not move the camera down to frame the stage in the centre (vertically) of the shot?

I don't mind the softness so much, especially with the deep tones and light mist. I also like how the dark mass on the right is balanced with the larger, lighter ridge on the left. The dark rectangles (boats?) in the centre distract me from enjoying the rest of the picture, though.
  2. I like the symmetry. The flamboyant red is a welcome contrast from the more conservative pedestrians on either side, and as such, should be "in your face". Besides, if she moved to either side, your attention would go racing down the center of the street! I like the fact that her sweater acts as stand-in for her cropped out head, but I'd also like to see the shot with her head included. The only aspect that troubles me is her right hand, which is somewhat formless in comparison to her right.
