He's full of it.

I'm not sure about Arca-Swiss but I make lensboards from stiff thin plywood for my Cambo monorail. Works just fine and cheap too. About $4 a board. Just spray paint them black with flat paint.

Your Mr. Hama must do a pretty crappy job if he didn't pick this up. You sure he did anything besides wipe it down and make it look shiny. If you paid on credit card I would refuse the charge and send it back to him to do a proper job. He should have least noticed the problem if there really is one, and given you an estimate for repair. You have received some good advise above as well.

Vancouver and surrounding area is one of the most visually stunning locals in the world. Mr. Ed could take a winning pic there!
-
First off you take the Cambo back off. That's the part with the ground glass. Then you use the grafmatic clips on what's left of the back to attach the Grafmatics to the camera.

Have any of you tried loading two sheets into a hanger? Both sheets
would have their emulsions facing out. This way I could do 12 sheets
at once instead of 6.
-
I'll add my vote for PyroCat-HD. I've never had any weirdness when using it. I use hangers and develop 6 sheets at a time.

It was probably used in a copier or similar contraption.

Good pic Dominico. I just saved it and then changed the extension to JPG. Loaded fine.

First find out what they want to get out of the course. Teaching them to much detail when all they want is to learn how to take "pretty" pictures with their P&S's is a waste of their and your time.

what the heck are the "auto" things?

I don't get your point Bryan, and I don't think you got mine.

I'm with Rob on this one. All things being equal an interesting subject expertly captured will go a lot further than the "ultimate" combination of snake oil. By todays standards Weston et al used really crappy lenses, film, cameras and light meters. If they used a meter at all as in Weston's case. A true artistic vision was what came thru and has indured all these years. How may technically perfect, tack sharp, 10 zone range B&W prints have you seen that were REALLY boring? Lots! Many of mine to be included in that group as well. Everyonce in a while that flash of inspiration hits and I take a truely artistic picture. It doesn't happen as often as I would like, but it sure shows when it does. My first wife was an "artist" in every sense of the word. She was very good and has paintings hanging in all the right places. She gave photography a whirl and could give a rats behind for technique etc. The stuff she cranked out was amazing. I would just about have to hose down the darkroom each time she was in there. Chemicals flying everywhere! She prefered to use an old Pentax pre Spotmatic. Couldn't grasp the idea of using a meter, just relied on what the little chart on the box of film said. It was maddening as hell!

I have an SA 90 and find it quite sharp. But I too stop it down to f22 most of the time.

Try APX 100 developed in PyroCat-HD. You'll leave a wetspot!
-
I like to use a 150mm.
-
Now GreyWolf, you just have to quite using your Gitzo for shovelling snow!
Whatever glue you decide to use a hypodermic needle to shot it under the rubber
in strategic places.
-
Probably not. If you had your film within inches of the glow there might be a problem.

Kevin, truely spoken as someone who probably doesn't have the money to spend (blow) on this Wisner. Personally I can afford to buy any camera I want, but I didn't get to that point by wasting it on poorly designed, grossly overpriced merchandise. Keep your chicken soup anaylsis to yourself please.

It looks like a monstrosity! I can't imagine hand holding it. The ergonomics are horrible. Anyone who spends $3500 for this has got to have more money than brains. I'd rather use a Rollei TLR before that thing. I can just imagine trying to take a picture with any decent depth of field hand held. Ya sure, 1 sec at f32, forward tilt, gimme a break!
-
Rodenstock 150mm Geronar. Yes that's right all you APO snobs, a Geronar! I love the feel of this lens and it's very sharp. On top of this I can fold up my field camera with it in place. Next would be my Schnieder 90mm SA.
-
or does the staining inhibit this process?
-
I have a Rollei TLR and a blad 500c/m. The Rollei is sharper and is a dream to travel with. The downside is you can't change backs to utilize different types of film for the same scene. The Rollei also does not attract attention like the blad. Naturally the Rollei is much quieter too.

It's suspended dust in the air and the light coming over the mountain is illuminating it. Kind of like sun streaming down thru the tree in a forest. In that case it's suspended particles of water ie. thin fog. Don't sweat it, just be more aware of what's in your image frame.

Looking for developing times etc. I've searched the archives and
find nothing. Have all the other developer combinations so don't
need a rehash of that thanks.
