1.
Thank you very much for the response. I should have mentioned that the shots will not be taken when the kids are skating. They are just individual shots of the kids standing. So no worries about shooting through glass etc.
I will bring both of my alienbees. I have a shoot through umbrella that I will most likely use with my 1600 a bit futher back on the left and my 800 that I will use with a regular umbrella a bit closer on the right.
My camera is the Canon 40d and the higher ISO isn't the greatest but with the alien bees and my 70-200mm 2.8 IS lens I will be fine.
I will post a few pictures once I am done.

 2.
I will be helping out with some hockey team photos this weekend. I am starting off my taking pictures of each individual kid. I am not sure which flash method would be best. I have some AlienBee's with a shoot through umbrella or I can use my Ray Ring Flash mounted on a Canon 580EXii.
Also, does anyone have good tips on photographing in arena's (glass on boards, white from the ice) to make the pictures turn out really good?

Thanks in advance

 3.
I have seen photos that have been printed and framed without glass and they look amazing. They have all have some type of protective spray on them.
I tried out the Krylon - Low Odour Clear Matte spray on a photo that I printed on my Epson R1900 and it ruined the photo.
What kind of spray adds a texture to the photo and protects it?
