This Burrowing Owl spent several minutes checking out the city nest signage, then settled down directly under the sign for a morning nap. Cape Coral, Florida has a relative abundance of burrowing owls in close proximity to homes and walkways, which provides photo op's of fairly human-tolerant birds. Not much of an image for aesthetics, but we got a laugh out of it anyway. -
The City of Cape Coral often posts these signs near the burrows of locally common Burrowing Owls. This youngster appeared to check out the caution, then promptly took a nap directly under it. -
