Scott,
Thank you. At least it is good to know I am not the only one having this problem. And that is nothing wrong with my scanner itself. I will have to call Nikon Canda just to see if they have something to say about it. I will keep you posted.

I have a problem when scanning with my Coolscan V. Everything seems to
work well until it tries to perform the ROC and GEM features. This
only happens at the actual scan and not during the preview phase. I
get a warning that says,
"There was an error in performing a post processing"
It used to work fine before and the weirest thing is that the first
scan after power the scanner on works well and at the second scan I
get the warning.
Is it a software or a hardware problem?
I installed again the Nikon scan software and even updated to 4.0.2
version from the Nikon site.
I recently updated to XP2 but as i said the weirest thing is that
sometimes it works and sometimes not.
If i do not get a clue here, I will have to call nikon support but
then I will have to wait until monday.
Thank you for your help.

And if you can get and understand the original in French go for it. It is even better!

Follow plan F: Break the bank and spring for the 70-200mm f/2.8G AF-S IF-ED VR

It is listed at Vistek in Troronto at $3499 canadian dollars. That would be around $2500 US

Your assumption is wrong. Hyperfocal distance is a factor of focal length not sensor size.

If you can, go east towards the Charlevoix region. Good luck

We had the same problem. We invested over $1000 cnd in the microscope adaptal and then Nikon decided to discontinued these kind of cameras!
This is the best we got.

Prices for a mint condition 20-35 are very attractive in the famous auction site. I think it is worth looking for one. I have one and I think is wonderfull!.

If you are not planning to stay in Mexico City just follow Jeff's advice. Once in Mexico airport ask somebody where to get the bus. There is plenty of english speaking people.

Get a used SB-20, Sb-22s (used or new) or a SB-28 (used). There are a lot of bargains out there.

-5- Adjust FM3a lens aperture ring to suit one's desires (dof, etc.). Not so sure about this one. SB-800 seems to display f5.6 and not sure exactlhy how this figures in.
You have to set the aperture manually on the flash as well

Well, the 28/2.8 AIS is supposed to be one of the best wide angle lens Nikon has ever made.

I have the FE771SB-BK NEC-Mitsubishi Monitor and Colorvision Spyder. They work as they should. You can either calibrated using the preset white temperatures or by ajusting the RGB guns via the Naviset software.
Follow this link.

Yes!

I take my FM3a. I love the F80 but it is useless at least under Quebec winter conditions

20-35/2.8
80-200/2.8 with tripod mount
300/4 AF-S

By the way, you can download the NaViSet software for free at NEC/Mitsubishi website.

As far as I understand the FE771sb is a down scaled FE991sb (look at the spec.). The FE991sb is the same monitor as the highly regarder Lacie 19" Blue Electron IV monitor. I have a FE771sb and I find it great for my needs.
