This is by far the best of all 271 of your photos on this site. It is a little reminiscent of Paul Strand, well composed. The image is open-ended, it leaves something for the viewer to consider, unlike virtually all the photos on this entire site. It's abstract, yet utterly literal. This is one thing that photography can do that no other medium can do in just this way.

He does not look sad to me; maybe that's his nice car on the left. You should be careful to not photograph people with the unconscious motivation of illustrating your superiority. Too many people take pictures of others less fortunate or less aware, without providing any artistic or editorial statement. These are exploitation photographs, even if the subject is unaware (or even gives permission). This one does not really provoke a strong reaction, it just doesn't say very much.

This one works less well than the other one I commented on. This one adds up to a graphic design which doesn't have the richness of the other one, and doesn't say more as a whole - the manipulation does not achieve an additional layer of meaning like the other one does.

This is a rare example of photomontage where the manipulation of the image really does create a new image which is saying much more than the sum of its parts. It reminds me of MC Escher. Very very wonderful.

I like this photo a lot, it is one I wish I would have taken myself. What I would do with it is to bring the curve up just on the plane with the train tracks - namely: make a selection in between all the vertical elements and stair railings, then, using the curves tool, make that selection brighter and may a touch more contrasty.

Most of the photos on this web site are drastically overproduced. Yours are refreshingly "natural"; it is such a relief to look at them, they are pleasing. That said, there are subtle improvements to the technics that would improve the images while retaining their look. Slight adjustments to curves, a little attention to shadow detail. Keep up the good work.
