It's a simple and elegant composition with muted natural colours, which is probably why it has received some low ratings. Many people are using monitors that are either unsuitable or incorrectly set up, the subtleties of this image will be lost on them. Also, as Grigoriy pointed out, don't pay too much attention to the ratings; what's popular isn't always a reflection of what's good.
I'm not a great fan of borders, and I'm glad that you've opted for a simple white frame as this doesn't overpower the image. The only tweaks I would make would be to clone out the two blobs either side of the birds (I'm not sure whether they're more birds or just random detritus but since they don't really add anything I'd get rid of them).

Many thanks for your constructive and supportive comments

I really like this image; but feel that the frame does not help it, personally I'd prefer to see it with less black surrounding it

I really like this, you could have great fun hanging it on a wall and turning it either way up and seeing how long it takes people to notice

I really like this; although the rocks seem to lead the eye off to the right and then go nowhere, but short of taking a bulldozer along with your camera there's not much that can be done about that. I'm particularly fond of the muted colours as they are natural looking and you've avoided the postcard look.

The details, colours, and tones of this image are beautiful. Unfortunately, for me anyway, I didn't feel drawn into the picture; shooting from a slightly lower position off to the left would have had the rocks leading toward the cliff that has caught the sunlight, and would (in my opinion) have made a truly stunning photograph.

Simply stunning, the multi-colour stars and a quirky effect to a beautiful image

Thanks Grigoriy, I might be getting the hang of this at last :o)

Many thanks for comments.
J. Harrington; I'm inclined to agree that it looks a bit tight, but it looked a bit lost when there was a huge expanse of black above it. I'll be trying this shot again in the future so I'll have a go at slightly different angles and framing.

Thank you Grigoriy, I realize that the shot is far from perfect but it has an otherworldly feel that I found pleasant. One to try again later I think.

Beautifully and artistically captured, a wide range of tones and detail without over-saturated colours or obvious post processing. Very very impressive

I think this is an awesome picture, the flame like quality of the light when viewed from a distance and the details of the rock when viewed closer are captivating. It's a bit grainy in the corners, but not enough to distract from the main focus. I love it

The blown sky spoils this image, which is a pity because the other elements work well

A quirky image that is unfortunately blurry; sadly the new rating system won't allow me to imply that through a high score for originality and a lower score for aesthetics, so I'm explaining my rating of 4. As I can fully understand how hard it is to get everything together when trying to catch a subject that refuses to sit still and pose I do not want to appear harsh, but the blur really detracts from what could have been an outstanding image.

You're welcome.
There are quite a few tips for setting up monitors and printers on this site' they tend to be biased toward desktop monitors as these give better results than laptops, but the information is still relevant if you allow for the fact that you'll never get perfect results. That being said; the people who can afford the equipment to get perfect results are in the minority so just go for the settings that give you results that YOU are happy with.
And keep shooting.
And enjoy yourself :o)

It's not an image I would like to try and check a monitor with; the golden colour of the light has tinted everything, so getting an accurate colour reference would be a nightmare. The over-exposed sky on the left is a bit distracting, if you tweaked that with D-lighting it would improve the image considerably (check the saturation if you do this as it can end up a bit gaudy otherwise, it's a personal preference thing though so whatever works for you). Good DOF and reasonably sharp over most of the image.
