  1. Thanks Mike,

I didn't expect this to come out the way it did, with some people showing movement and others hardly moving.

Nothing planned, just a night out with with my wife (not in the picture) and a camera. We were just waiting for a bus...

Lovely perspective. Just wondering, how close were you given the fact that they can run 30Mph on any surface?

Let me rephrase: stunning beauty, innocent peaceful posing. Like you I think this wonderful beast deserves our respect.

Let’s hope that your exhibition helps our understanding and promotes protection of this wonderful habitat. BTW I really like your portfolio!

PS. Did you know that Cairn Energy wants to drill for oil in the Nort Pole area (without showing a spill response plan)?

What a beautiful photo. I love the light and the fact that her left side shows so much detail.

BTW did you manipulate the droplets? Just wondering (it doesn't really matter if you did).

I think I'll remain in silent admiration for a while...

  2. At 1/1000 & f8 I would've thought the eye to be sharp as the body. Were you perhaps really close (reducing the DOF)?

The black rectangles in the background distract a bit, but I like the contrasting colors and the flying water drops.

At first I couldn't make up my mind. Are they moving left or right? Then I was sure: they're following the light grey one to the right.

Beautiful sense of motion, very present (at least in my opinion). What made you take the photo?

I really like this photo. Did you see the can when you took the shot?

My first thought was the situation looked like a mediterranean street, pleasant surprise to see such nice sunny streetlife in Quebec.

I feel this nice photo lacks in balance. The beautiful sunlit part is 'weighed down' by the large dark part.

OTOH the flower pops out nicely.

There is a very bright detail in between the leaves (upper left quadrant) that is a bit distracting.

  3. I like this photo probably as a result of the composition and contrast. The contrast of the photo and the object versus natural beauty.

When viewed larger it looked as if the airline name is out of focus possibly the result of subject movement (LOL). Looking at the smaller photo I find this not to be distracting.

A tiny cloud in the bottom right corner seems to 'ask' for attenion. I would've somehow removed this.

    Northern lights

    Stunning....

This truly wonderful image leaves me puzzled. How did you achieve texture on the lighthouse? Did you perhaps use external means to sync lighthouse light entering during a long exposure?

I love the fact that you managed to get the lighthouse as foreground.

Didn't I hear an interview with you on the BBC Worldservice on the subject of northern lights in Iceland?

    Good hunting, those northern lights!

    Regards, Nico
