  1. for me, it was at shiloh national battleground in southern tennesse. the battleground is located on the tenn river at a

place called pittsburg landing. a 2 day battle was fought there with much carnage. to stand on the edge of "bloody

pond" where many wounded and dying soldiers had crawled attempting to get some water was an extremely weird

feeling. i was there late in day with no one else around and i could almost feel the battle. it was afeeling i have never

    had before.

  2. the only photo ive ever seen that "glowed" was an original ansel print of "aspens". none of my lieca or nikon pics have ever glowed for me--perhaps its my technique. wonder if a person could tell the difference betwen pics taken with nikon and leica when laid sise by side, all other variables the same? doubt i could.
  3. Do it--not too late. I just got a 500cm, couple of backs, and a 50mm for a very reasonable price. I take primarily landscapes so its perfect for me--will pick up a 150mm to do portraits assuming the economy dont kill me first. Always wanted a Hasselblad.
  4. yes/no--depends on the situation. As a "casual" camera for snaps at birthdays--yes. As a working camera for the serious amateur or pro--no. The Leica will last for years, in fact, will outlast the photog. So, in that situation, price of the camera is really academic--assuming you could scratch up the initial purchase price. I am speaking of the rangefinder cameras only--digital, i have no idea.
