1. I know for a fact that I used developer and all of the chemicals in the correct order. I went through and double checked the ml on the

developer before I diluted with water, and everythig else I lined up correctly. I guess the developer was over diluted, because I just

checked the camera shutter and it's working perfectly. Maybe Sprint developer isn't my cup of tea. I always get perfect film when I use

    d76.

  2. Ah! The film is completely transparent. I guess something is malfunctioning with my shutter then. I know the film advanced because I'm

using a mamiya 645 and it was wound up to the "exposed" side. I didn't even think about that. I'm used to using d76 and the 1:9 ratio

didn't feel right. Thanks for your help! Now to figure out what's wrong with my shutter, instead...

  3.
I have a quick question about the 1:9 ratio on the Sprint film developer for 120mm films. I just developed a roll of Delta 400 and it came out completely blank. I was using a standard 120mm tank (not the plastic ones), and put in 50ml developer and 450ml water, but it didn't seem to work? What am I doing wrong? This is the third time I've used this developer and the past few times my film was over-developed.

  4.
I have a Novatron flash system and wanted to get some grids, but I can't figure out if they make an attachment for my particular lights.
They look like this:
I found a grid on b&h that would attach to a snoot, but I couldn't figure out if the snoot would attach to this particular light or not. Any help would be great! Thanks

  5.
I just got my hands onto some 8x10 Polaroid 809 film and was wondering if I could get any suggestions on where I could find a holder and a processor in order to shoot with it. I have tried looking at eBay, but I haven't really found anything. Is there a particular holder number that I need to be searching for? I am pretty experienced with using Polaroid Type 55 before, but I haven't used the 8x10 film before. Is the process very different from the Type 55 process? Thanks.

  6. I have the opportunity to purchase a Novatron 880 power supply with two lights included, a few sets of umbrellas, a couple of light stands,

and a few other accessories. The person selling is asking ~$300-$350 for the whole set. The power pack was taken to the Novatron

supply center and rebuilt last year, and is in mint condition. My question is if it is worth the price that is being asked and the reliability of a

rebuilt system. I was searching ebay and saw the same power packs and pairs of lights going for $20. However I am not well versed

when it comes to strobe systems and I am a little bit confused. Any advice for me?

  7.
Hello all –

I just recently purchashed a flash for my brownie flash six-20! I absolutely love these little cameras.

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody knows anything about the flash bulbs for them? I've tried looking on google, but I haven't really come up with any luck on finding any information on them, where to get them, how long they last, etc.

Thanks!

  8.
Hello all! I will be a study abroad student this upcoming summer semester in June and my group is going to live in Florence for a month. We will be traveling to museums and taking a train for a weekend to attend the Biennale in Venice, which I am really excited about. I also think that a couple of my friends and I are going to plan a weekend in Rome as well.

It is my first time traveling abroad so I'm quite cautious about the safety of my equipment. I was curious as to how I should pack and carry around my camera equipment while walking the streets of Italy. I've heard a lot of things about pickpockets and gypsies, and I am kind of nervous! Also, any suggestions on the possibility of taking a tripod with me? I have a Slik Pro 500DX.

I was also considering purchasing a new lens before I go. My budget isn't very high, being a college student and all, so I was thinking something on the cheaper side? I currently use a Canon 40D and have a 50mm 1.8 prime, a 28-135mm IS, and an 18-55mm.

If anybody has any suggestions for me that would be awesome!
Thank you!

edit:
I am also bringing along my Holga camera to experiment with 120 film.

  9. I am somewhat new to the world of digital SLRs and do not know much about lenses. I have a Canon 40d along with

the kit lens the 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS and also a 50mm f/1.8. I am in college and am looking into getting an

inexpensive good-quality wide angle lens with a particularly low stop. I was looking at the 24mm f/2.8, the 28mm

f/2.8, and the 35mm f/2 and wasn't sure about the image quality/appearance of the three. I wasn't too sure about

the 28mm though because I do have the 28-135mm and I don't want to get a lens that can do basically what my zoom

lens can do at full aperture. I've only shot Canon lenses but I'm open to other suggestions. :]
