    Multiplicity

          1

This is my first attempt with multiplicity shots.

I had to grow a beard for 3 weeks because I lost a bet. So when the time came to take it off, I thought I'd try this picture.

All you got to do is:

    1. Put the camera on a tripod

    2. Set it to Manual with correct exposure so you don't need to blend exposure later

    3. Set the focus to manual targeted to a spot you know is good.

    4. Fire off multiple shots in various positions. If you want to make life easy, avoid overlap of the different instances.

    5. Load each of them as different layers in an image editing software ( GIMP in my case)

    6. Mask/Unmask the people.

    Comments are welcome!

    Thanks

  1. Awesome exposure/shutter speed combo. I don't know if you added a vinette (dark corners) later. But it goes well here. I would have liked to see a bit more of the trees on the top . But then again it leaves a sense of mystery.

Overall I think it was worth loosing the pint of blood :)

This is a superb shot. Love the bold straight/centered composition. The exposure and dynamic range is awesome. I assume you used HDR. Either ways, the post processing is done very well.

    School Cafe

I had to visit the local high school on a Sunday for a meeting. After I had my fill of what people had to say in the meeting I sneaked out. This is the outside courtyard of the school Cafe.

It is a hand held 3 shot HDR.Thanks!

I love the overall composition. The light is perfect and well balanced. I love the look on the models face. It is very natural and relaxed. And she is very very pretty (Can't give you credit for that unless she is related to you :) ).

The DOF and Vintage effect is very nice. Finally the soft glow effect is very well done. It has enhanced the image and yet the image is crisp and clear.

    My First Tarantula

    Hi Leslie,

I hate insects. I would never take this thing on my hand. Here in Massachusetts, it is way to cold for these.

I like your pucture. The details are nice and the exposure/light is nicely controlled. One thing I would have liked is if you could get it at a horizontal angle and thus get the eyes. I know many have 4, some have 8.

    White Water Creek

This is a white water creek in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. The picture is a HDR from three shots bracketed at 2 stops. Used Photomatrix to create the composite.

Taken hand held standing on some rocks.

    I love the overall picture.

The bold center composition works very well. I like the unbalanced number of hay rolls on either side. It makes it more interesting.

    The clouds are beautiful.

The lighting is awesome and the overall texture and details are great.

Like the composition. I would say it would be mundane if it was straight. I like it this way. The colors are well saturated and the details are nice.

  2. Hayden Park in Lexington, MA in late afternoon.

This was a moderately bight day and I tried bracketing. But did notuse any HDR stacking in the end. I used a masked layer to get the darkclouds from the darker shot of the bracket. So in some ways you couldcall it manual exposure blending.

Since I used my Lumix LX5 Point&Shoot and not a dSLR, you can tellthere is some noise if you zoom in.

Your comments and improvement tips are welcome!

I like the post processing. It gives that "west" look. The tones are very nice. The horiz and vertical lines are soothing to the eye. The head nicely placed in the frame

I can see that there is a similar structure at the back of this one. I think it would have made a better composition to get the one behind looking through the one in the foreground - just a suggestion.

    Peeper's Pond

          2

Peeper's Pond is a small pond in Arlington MA that has green weeds on the surface.

This happened to be a bright afternoon. I used my Lumix LX5 P&S to bracket 3 shots and then did a HDR using Photomatrix.

Since this was taken using a P&S there was much noise in the HDR processed one. Used Lightroom 3 noise correction to take care of it.
