1.
I'll take a comprimise of 27mm 1.6 (that sounds just random enough to be a LTD right?)....
Take that dead horse! =)
you never know pentax might listen.

 2.
really, nice shots and i'm super jealous of your trip!
also, you found the perfect camera system for you, I'm also envious of that =) and since you didn't say that all other camera systems suck compared to your oly, I don't consider it fanboyism... just what you need.

 3.
thanks justin, I don't have one, so I can't check the firmware and it could be just me, but the samsung site doesn't inspire much confidence, in that I can't figure out what the firmware does other than a couple of big changes.
yeah, I know it's not pentax, but I couldn't think of a better spot for it, m4/3 would probably just tell me to buy a E-pl2. Besides, if no one answers, is a post really there =) and I would try and make the nx a home for my 21 and 43!

 4.
Howdy, I'm pretty sure at least one person on this forum has one (Mis?) and this is just where i post so... was wondering about the firmware updates on the nx-10, I've read that there is a magnification for live view in an update (but i can't find that anywhere else) and I also read that you can turn on and off the eye controls for the EVF and screen, anyone know if these things are true?

oh also, just found a blog that says he's had the NX-11 for a while and it has sony's panorama mode now, but not much else new.

musicphotolife@blogspot if you're interested.

 5.
maybe it's because the K-7 is being replaced soon and retailers are trying to get max money for their remaining stock. let the replacement rumors begin (continue=)

 6.
well, most japanese stuff comes from china, so I don't doubt that japanese don't like 4 either... think it has something to do with death... they took out 4 and 44 of the invitations for a chinese wedding i helped with last weekend.
I would also like a W90...for hiking and running... I just can't get myself to buy it, I think the IQ has a ways to go, where as the new top tier camera pics are starting to look decent (pixel peeping I know.. but still). maybe for $150...

 7.
4 is bad luck right?
anywho, the sample photo's on dpr for the lx5 look pretty nice. I'm hoping the exr sensor can outperform it at high iso, and approack micor 4/3 quality.... I don't think it will, but i can dream.

 8.
not pentaxish exactly, but I know we've had discussions on compact to complement our SLR's..
just saw the spec on the new fuji exr300 and it's 1/2" sensor (supposedly improved from the 200) and zoom range make it look pretty appealing on paper, maybe moreso than the lx5 (to me). I know it's too early without seeing actual images, but I'm excited to see bigger sensor's in point and shoots, even if it is (4x2x1) pretty big. anyone else interested?

 9.
You guys are killin me with these camping posts, I haven't gotten out even hiking or camping this year because of a torn meniscus(sp?)... I'm totally jealous and I wish I had some camping pics that didn't satisfy me=D
I like the clouds from the canoe... Im' a sucker for wide angle clouds.

 10.
Dave, some really nice photo's, thanks for posting. I think you're right that the earlier you go the better. Seems like the hotter it is, the more hazy it gets out there.

 11.
Hmm.. If I can find a $100 round trip ticket to NYC, then it still might be worth it=) I hope this programs spreads to a CA location!
I'd agree that mass transit isn't "self sustaining" in small markets (or any market), but would say that it's a reflection of the auto/oil industry's control of the countries collective mind, and policy rather than an inherently unviable option.

 12.
yikes, thanks for the link (both links)... I'll be done reading it sometime in june=)
I don't think my old B+W was multi coated (the box is at home somewhere), I got it from ritz on clearance... the box looks like it was made in 1975, but it worked.

 13.
Was gonna ask this in the POW thread, but maybe a new question is better. Justin's picture got me thinkning. I recently lost my old B+W CP, so I'm wondering if it's worth the money for the multi coated filter? Anyone have a single coated and a mulit and can tell the difference? can't tell the differnce?
Thanks.

 14.
lorenzo.. I think I like the one with the moon better.
dorus, that museum is cool, like the clouds.
Somanna, that shot looks really good in the larger size, lots of detail and good color without oversaturation.
julio, the fern and the fungus look very alien and apealing.
matt congrats on the 15mm like the first shot, how close were you to the biker?

 15.
Bryan, you kinda just repeated what I said in the bus analogy. This seems to follow my thinking that engineers just don't listen very well.
1. accept it (follow the prescribed routes) status quo is good? everything is fine?
2. don't consume (walk). really, this isn't an option unless you move to walden pond.
3. do the engineers job for them (i didn't say this, but it's a typical engineer's response)
So, I agree we don't have real choices. People don't understand the problem because engineers can't explain it and thier bosses don't want people to understand it; ignorant folks are easier to control and make money off of.
Also, I thought the locked thread thing was a pretty transparent and humourus comment, but thanks for pointing out the obvious.

 16.
Sorry john... are those digital captures? not that it matters, but I can't tell if I can see paper marks from the scan or if my monitor is wierding out.

 17.
we have the illusion of choice, ... don't blame consumers, it's at least a two way street, but the corporations are driving the buses. Consumers can only go on the prescribed routes, or walk, or yell at the driver. and unfortunately, the city council is made up of bus drivers... can this be locked now, so Idon't "have" to read another of brian's essays?=D

 18.
The first one is mega cool john, I didn't look up wind leak, so I don't know what's going on... but nice pic.
Bryan, everyone has the right and obligation to complain, this is the U.S. Folks need to speak up more. Those SUV's wouldn't be so popular with higher fuel standards, but that doesn't happen when the oil and auto companies own the commitees that regulate them; corporations complain louder (more money), so they get their way... sorry fo the ot, I'm done. Really do like the pics.

 19.
for my personal preferance, I'd get the 15mm. Wide angles are harder to find, that is, you can get a manual focus (I'm assuming that's not a problem for you ) used 24mm-35mm (that is faster than the 21mm ltd) for pretty cheap later on if you find you really want a more "normal" lens. But if you buy the 21mm now I don't see you finding a cheap wide angle on par with the 15mm for less than $500.... also, if 21mm are going for $450 used, I think I might sell mine, buy the 15mm and wait for Pentax to make a fast 28mm-30mm (sometime in the next 2 to 20 years)=D
