Thanks David! Was indeed a quick grab... taking photos of a bunch of giggling girlfriends it was nice to get a shot with a softer mood too :)

wow looks so like a heart with all the arteries etc branching off it - quite amazing how nature makes its own art. beautiful shot.

Taken during a picnic with some friends.

love this... its really feminine and serene but also the way shes looking with the slight smile in her eyes is almost like shes breaking the rules to enjoy her coffee (the way i feel every time... it's so good to break the diet). Beautiful.

Thanks for your comments, Philip. I hadn't thought to remove some of the sky but now experimenting a bit with that I think I agree. I would've liked to have been lucky enough to catch what they were looking for (whale watching!) but I don't think I would've been fast enough!
Thanks again.

I, too, kept getting drawn to this photo. It's a fabulous shot and the colours are phenomenal.

Just wanted to agree with marielou.
I find the critique on photo.net a great way to learn and open my eyes to new aspects I can bring to my own photos, the fact that so much (sometimes heated!) debate comes from so many experienced and talented members here shows that there are always new ways to look at things - art is subjective, after all!
I'd have preferred it stuck to a debate about the technical aspect of the photo rather than what seems to be getting quite personal about one member's comments. Keep it up Marc - comments like this help us learn & improve!

great pic. echo what jordan said too in terms of elements - for me lighting & puppy's expression work really well together in capturing mood in this shot
