Mikael Karlsson, what you are doing is the same thing as "asking permission". If you have to "ask for permission" to exercise a constitutional right then you, in fact, do NOT have that right. You are just setting up other photographers for harassment, those who understand what a constitutional right really is.

Well doggone Lawrence, a guy can't have any excitment that way!

I'll tell ya what I told B.M. in another thread. Photography is a tough business and if you don't have the resources to fight the misuse of your images then you're just flat out SOL. It ain't pretty, but its life.

Welcome to the wonderful world of working with the federal government!

Common "elements" of humanity or common "characteristics" of humanity?

I can't understand why "constitutionally protected free speech under the 1st. Amendment" is such a difficult concept for these morons to understand. Did they get their jobs because they passed a test and had the prerequisite job experience or because they had a friend or relative who helped them slip in the side door? Its time for some BIG monetary awards and some BIG jail sentences, otherwise their coharts in law enforcement are just NOT going to get the word. There has to be some big time butt kicking carried out.

I'm certain I saw one like that when I was in Omaha back in '63.

Ah, life in the 21st. century!

I'm definitely hip although I'm the only one who thinks so.

So I guess the International Association of Street Photographers has ruled that using a telephoto lens in street photography is "cheating". Hmmmmm.

-

Leo sez the best equipment for street photography is big balls. I guess that just about rules out any woman photographers! Well I guess that's not true. I'm sure a few "she-males" have done some street photography.

Some high school dropout in a pickup truck with "SECURITY" on the door rolling up to me when I'm shooting in a public place wanting to know "What do you think you're doing."

I'm also wondering if x-rays are not copywriteable due to the fact that they are medical information and privacy considerations override any possible copywright. IANAL so I don't know but I sorta suspect that may be the case.

-

Set your camera to shoot the largest file size you can and then you'll have plenty of room to crop.

Sic'm Dieter!

X-rays are produced via a "work for hire" agreement and therefore belong to the hospital, clinic, or doctor's office that hired the x-ray technician.

I'll tell ya for sure that guy running across the arena is a LOT more gutsier than I!

Take it from an old fart. If you sense danger at all, pack up and move on in a hurry. The greatest picture ever taken cannot compensate for a slug thru your torso or a long knife for that matter. There are gang bangers all over the country who'll kill you in a heartbeat. Stay away from their neighborhoods. Fergzample, I don't go to the south end of Modesto (CA) for ANY reason and there are probably places near you that are as unfriendly.

Lex, do you suppose this phenomenon is going to have an effect on my XM-Serius radio?

Boy, lots of good input here. Thank you all.
