  1. Beautiful!

Reminiscent early 20th century Art Deco... I'm thinking of Klimt, Schiele, Rodin's watercolor nudes... also of Rolls Royce!

ps I have nothing to say about the other images that you have posted. This one however really stands out.

  2. A geometrically rigorous composition/posture will often bring out the true beauty of the subject, whereas a whimsical approach will mostlikely deliver cheesecake. A fascinating picture. Let's see the whole series.
  3. The 'way' in which the fabric reveals the figure in the classical scupture is what makes it so pleasing; it is a revelation by means of concealment... The garment in your picture however, seems to be separate from the figure, it hides more than it reveals, it is an entity of it's own rather than an emanation of the figure, making the expression of the model's body perhaps less harmonious, fragmented in hands, thighs and calves. Nevertheless, seeing both image side by side is very stimulating. Thank you.

If find this image technically and aesthetically very pleasing, it stands out from the rest of the work displayed in your gallery. There seems to be however a certain hesitation between two genres, portrait and figure study. I find the expressionistic proposition of the latter much more compelling than the residual elements of the former. By that I mean I am less interested in the model's personality, as manifested by her gaze, make up and jewelry, than the formal expression of her body and the ribbons. Nice! Any more from that shoot?

IMO one of your most interesting pictures. Reminds me of the Victory of Samothrace in the Louvres. Unlike the usual cheese-cake pose, it is neither contrived nor erotic but simply elegant and graceful. There seems to be however a certain contradiction or a conflict in the attitude, a strong, soaring, dynamic push surging from the legs, reaching to the solar plexus where it is abrubtly folded back at the sternum, the gaze turned inward. As if the model was shying back from where her feet want to lead her. She is breaking, falling back on herself...you know what I mean? If she would just assume the desire expressed in the legs and open her gaze to the space they are disclosing. Like a sail! I would recommend looking at the Victory of Samothrace together with the model.

Technically I'm not an expert but I would perhaps try to attenuate the illumination on her right hand, as it is, the highlight creates a point of tension that attracts the eye away from the general dynamic flow of the attitude. Just somewhat darkened - not removed, that would create an imbalance as the other poster remarked.

    Beautiful work, thank you.

  4. Cool. Nice mood. Would have been better with sharper focus.

Shooting this type of scene I would personnaly choose the "american shot" composition, that is croping at mid-thigh as in Western films where showing the pistol and the groin was important in conveying power and virility. In your picture including the guitar body(a custom Flying V ?) would have given more dynamic thrust.

I know, it's easy nit-picking after the fact!

    Thanks, I liked the shot.

    Face

This, in my opinion, is obscene. You're treating this person like an object.

1 Bad light. Older faces are very expressive and therefore need very soft light, otherwise they look like masks.

2 Bad PP. In this case the "photo-shopping" just aggravates the effects of the miserable lighting to the grotesque.

And hey, it's nothing personal, I just want to see some debate.
