I tried ISO12800 and even ISO 25600 for a few night shots and I've got reasonably good results.
To get the best results, I slightly overexpose (1/2 stop), and later, doing post-processing I correct the exposure,
apply some noise reduction to the RAW file and finally rescale/downsize the image.

I got my 5d2 from www.pixmania.com (price may vary if you select different countries on the web site).
I also have a Sigma 24-70 f2.8 and it is the main lens I use on the 5D2.
I keek reading bad things about this lens here on photo.net but I'm very happy with my copy - maybe I got a good copy or my expectations are too low...

My 5D2 LCD already has some scratches...
And what about dust protection ?
This weekend (http://www.inocam.com/~fjp/RP2009/) I've seen some persons that completely covered their 5D2s with adhesive plastic sheets...

There is some information about EF signals on the WEB.
For instance http://www.birger.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=ef232_home
I think you have motor power / motor ground and then you have logical power + logical ground followed by a SPI interface (CLOCK, DATA-IN and DATA-OUT).
Then you have a lot of SPI commands to read lens type/version, read aperture, set aperture, read current focal length, read focus position and several commands to set/move the focal position.

I had seen this effect on some of the pictures shot with my 400D, but in my case it only happens when the battery is almost empty.
When I replace/charge the battery, it doesn't happen any more.

I've been using the freeware UFraw program and like it a lot.
http://ufraw.sourceforge.net/
Version 0.15 will open your 5D2 files.

Maybe some of the other companies has patents related to in-body IS and Canon / Nikon simply cannot use it until the patents expire...

The 3.9 fps rate is probably
related to compact flash write bandwidth limit
and increased file size due to higher resolution.
I'm just a begginer but I'm already starting to feel some of the limitations in my Rebel XTi,
so I'll probably be buying one by Christmas :-)

I wonder if any of the posters in these threads are actually Canon marketing people. Sure Canon might not like leaks, but I suspect they like the idea of nobody noticing their camera even less.
And I wonder if anyone here have already received marketing info and/or sample copies and are already quietly reviewing it under NDAs ?
