Isn't that what makes PN so wonderful! We can all have different and varing opinions on every shot seen on this site. I enjoy the multitude of ideas and treasure each and EVERY comment, not only on my photos, but on others as well. Make you a bet. Take any one scene, place two or more photographic artists there and I guarantee the shots will be different. If this was not true I would just be buying throw-away point and shoots!

Steven, I hope you were not thinking I was attacking your critique!

Scrolling down all the photos for critique, this photo grabbed my eye. Yes, the composition is questionable. However, that is what caught my eye! I do not believe that all the rules of composition are to be strictly adhered to. This is called, "creativity" and you can NOT place rules on creativity because they destroy that process.

I believe you took an ordinary scene and made something special out of it by not following the "rules of photography". As for the contrails, they are there, live with it!

Incredible! I liken it to the wood art where different wood types are pieced together in inlays to produce a picture. You are so lucky to be able to visit these great areas. I have to say I truly enjoy your "art".

Nice shot! I like the composition and the muted colors. It may be just a little too light. However everything else is just about perfect. Keep it up!

Splendida opera d'arte.

GREAT photo. Very good composition and lighting. Vibrant colors and details. I'm sure you are going to get the "but the contrails" feedback, but to me that is the western sky! I love it. 7/6

I like the composition but the overall image is flat. This is the type of scene I would love to run into every day. I have attached my idea of what this photo should like, as per my own taste.

  1. Excellent! I sure wish I could have been there with you. Now I know how beautiful the park is and I must go back someday. Until then I will live the experience through your photographs.

Happy New year my friend! God bless you and your loved ones and happy photographing.

  2. Great photo! Brings back memories. I was a Police Officer in Lighthouse Point in the 70's. When I worked the midnight shift I would usually go here to watch the sunrise. They were some of the most beautiful sunrises I have ever seen.

Thank you for taking me back. 6/6 and in my favorites file.

I like the composition, color, sharpness and DOF. I also like the dark corners because along with the trees framing the lake it gives the appearance, to me, of looking through a "time warp". ( I have a vivid imagination!) 6/6
