Verry effective toning, adds a certain coldness.
-
Clever idea.

Windows, wheel, "25km" notice. Maybe you could put something like this in a circular frame.
-
The only thing I can think of that would possibly improve this picture is to delete the title. Let us wonder why he's there and what he's doing (sleeping, crying...).

I'm... awed by this picture. Fantastic composition, fasntastic use of space and light.

What's in the background?

"I would have used fill flash"
"Besides, the composition is flawed. I'd like to see the guy's right hand."
Sometimes I get the feeling that 70% of photo.netters have read a 500 word article entitled "basics of composition" and do all their critiquing/rating by scoring the picture against the "ten key rules" summary at the end.

I would have liked this to have a little more contrast (sparkle) and saturation. But I love it anyway. A9, O8.

I don't usually go for this sort of thing, but this is great. The structure of the picture, with the water widening to the right, really works.
Did you use a filter, or did you manage to find light (which reproduced as) that colour?
-
Love the use of light and grain
-
The frame looks tacky, I'd have given a higher aesthetics score without it.

Do I detect a hint of purist sour grapes in the ratings?

"I too would like to see a miniature of the three separate images"
I'll attach the three shots to this comment.
For the basic technique I used here, see: http://www.digitalsecrets.net/secrets/DynamicRanger.html
My friend Jawed Ashraf refined this by using smoother curves to compress the highlight/shadow versions. I'd suggest experimenting with these curves, and the blending opacity, to suit each image.

"seeing the middle frame alone would help..."
Here's the middle exposure.
One downside to this technique is that overlaying three different sets of ripples in the water changed the texture a bit. You really need truly stationary subjects.
-
Rotate right a little?
-
Extra point for the title
-
Might be worth trying a vertical shot to get some more of the barges in the foreground? The riverbank on the right isn't doing much anyway.
-
Simple trick but very clever. Wish I'd thought of it. A6 O9.

Originality marks given for caption ;-)

Something very retro about this...
