1. Hi all. IT's good to be back once in a while. On the plus side my classic camera collection is growing. I need help yall.

I have just got a nice looking Reflex Korelle, but the darn shutter courtain/ tension is shut. It doesn't wind all the way and it's very sluggish when tripped.

Do you know of anyone that is capable of fixing it? I tried Mark Hansen, but he said to ask someone else since he's never worked on this camera. He is one honest guy.

    So any suggestions?

  2. Hello, It is so nice to have time to post again. I was confined to my basement project for over a year.

If posting videos on things is not allowed, please remove. Also, what happened to them fancy stickers we had next to our profile names. Like how many years one was a member and such...?

Regardless, I got a box of glass plate negatives from local garage sale. If anyone is interested in a short story about them, here is a video I made.

  3.
Hello, being a member for nearly 10 years now. I dont want to just break rules when posting here. I know that P.net doesn't allow posting pictures that are not your own. Well last year I acquired a box of wet plates, developed and all, they start to slowly break down as the original owner didn't keep them in good conditions. Now that my basement darkroom is up and running after months of remodeling, I would like to know if I posted scans from these plates, would P.net moderator allow it?

  4.
I will tell you what, Anytime you work with chemicals at home you have to use caution. I make salt prints at home and I'm very good with cleaning stuff up, but one day, my kids ventured into my workshop and placed their little arms on the work surface, no worries here, all was cleaned up so no exposed chemicals plus I keep stuff locked up anyways. Next day, they play outside and my wife notices strange black spots on their arms. She's freaking out, so takes them to the doctor thinking it's an allergy to something. The doc puts on a mask and examines the spots - saying they they are on the surface so probably some kind of discoloration due to exposure to something. I come home and think hard about it. Do you know what it was? It was tiny specks of over sprayed 12% silver nitrate solution that when applying on paper with brush sprayed on the work surface and came in contact with their arms. They were then exposed to Sun's UV light and that exposed these tiny specks of silver nitrate. It's funny now, but we were both freaking out. Chemicals are as safe as you are.

  5.
I missed you guys and this forum. I lurk sometimes, but not much time to post. I have been busy with photography, moving to new place and all other hobbies. Here I have a clean, good lookin' Yashica camera. I used it once and it seems to work, but it has trouble in low light situations- pictures come out very underexposed, where in outdoor light, they are just fine. Anyways to whomever posts first with indicated interest in it, it ships free to lower 48. If anyone from our international friends want it, it will be $20.00 to ship.
Thank you,

  6.
Geez it's good to be back. I have too many hobbies and I cannot wrap my mind around them. I have the D in gray and I just wanted to say that it's nice that someone is going to fix and use it. Today's camera market is such that it jacks up the prices of used (even broken) cameras up to the roof. Good luck with your search. Share results once you get'er going.

  7.
Now here’s some info on the camera and film used. Exacta VX is from about 1954 and it’s a grandchild of Kine Exacta, first 35mm SLR. It features an odd left hand film winder, actually most of its buttons are on the left side of the camera. I have read somewhere that the designer was left handed, but I don’t know if it’s true. Anyways, this camera is a work of art in itself. Its ArtDeco design makes it very unique and pleasant to look at. They don’t make cameras like this one anymore. I used Kodak TriX at 400 and processed it in DD-X.

So that’s it, I hope you enjoyed this short introduction and trip back in time to Des Plaines and Mount Prospect.

00d1M4-553391384.jpg.afe579686570557167351a0f9be694c4.jpg
