    Auto Focus

Love it Jack! Just a quick visit to see what you are up to, will visit some more over the next few days as time permits :)
  2. Transhumanism. The singularity is approaching. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Congratulations Jack. You have been awarded level 12 in observational awareness. You are now fastracked for an approval into the inner enclave. Please delete this upon reading.

A worthy addition to your tome of cone. Quite a dramatic, but very clever comp.
  4. "The weak response probably says more about me than it does about the people here on pn" I'll say that when I first looked at the image, it's readily recognised as one of yours. As well as bearing your usual trademarks and particular skill in "animating" these little characters as I have said often before. I did have a moment of confusion though, when pondering on this one (after something strange somebody put in my cigarette?) if I was actually seeing these little creatures all by myself and not something you intended at all. Please tell me if I need to call 000.... Enjoyed your mail, will catch you up soon :)
  5. Nasty looking little fella. Looks like he might bite...nothing a pack of tim tams couldn't fix, I hope? Nice one.
  6. This is great. The white paint of course, the arrangement of the elements, a good example of how keen your eye is.
  7. "You should consider doing a book, Jack". How many times have we tried to tell him? lol. Personally Jack, I think you owe it to mankind. Darwinism works.
  8. A worthy selection. I'm see the girl in front at first, but then I see the girl on the back and she takes over the image immediately.

    Untitled

I like this, but I'm interested in how many do. I feel like the moment a photo is grainy, noisy, or soft, people pass it over. There's a fixation on technically perfect photography that completely misses the emotional point. Excellent photograph in my book :)

Mr Bayless, I presume? Its cool to see a selfie from you. they're usually an area of great peril, but a good one is worthwhile, as this one is. It's kinda a bit gangsta crossed with phillip k dick. Nice one. Diggin the DOF and flare.
  11. I can imagine your excitement finding this little scene, it's a good one and your composition is dead on the money.
  12. Great shot. Nice and close too, just as it should be.

    Fallen

Fallen. Discarded. Forgotten. It looks like typical kids mess, but your capture is eloquent. Nice one. I've sent you a pm, as the email function through pn aint working between us, apparently. Wouldn't surprise me if that isnt working either. Maybe I'll photograph a text document next.
  14. This conjures up all sorts of thoughts and feelings. My first was that I was looking at an artifact of some sort, like the face on Mars. Then I saw it was California. Some might say they were similar...lol. No offense. Maybe the way you present it helps, but it's dark and ancient, kinda makes me nervous and fight/ flight all at once. I like it.
  15. You did well in achieving the print look. Shame about your view, I'd be moving. Nicely done.   I finally emailed you, let me know if you didn't get it.

    Dog Days

So serene. Beautiful tones. Nice one Carlos :)
  17. I've always enjoyed how you animate these little creatures like you do. There is such a strong empathy, that they are instantly recognisable. I feel terrible for this guy. You've caught his bewilderment perfectly.
  18. Gorgeous. Have you ever looked at Gregory Crewdson's stuff? I have enjoyed his ideas somewhat before, this one has a similar aesthetic for me. It's one that I "relate too". Good storytelling. On another note, my apologies I have not emailed. For what it's worth, I have an incredibly hectic lifestyle right now and I want to actually sit down with an hour or so spare to actually catch up with you properly.
  19. Very kind words, Jack. Thank you...I think you are one of the few people that those words would actually mean anything to me as a photographer. I will most certainly email you for a catchup, it might just take me a few days....modern life an all. I look forward to it :)
  20. Hi Jack,   A very enjoyable image, you do have a knack for them...   There's quite a lot going on with this, a fortuitous moment to a photographer on the watch. Some would like to crop the top down to hide the cars on the left, but then you would lose that "other" layer to the image, which I for one enjoy.   Apologies I haven't been around for a while. I miss the discussion, but needed to exile myself from others opinions on my work for a little while. Totally for developmental reasons, not through negative experience or such.   Hope all is well. From browsing your recent stuff, it looks like you are ;)
