"The weak response probably says more about me than it does about the people here on pn" I'll say that when I first looked at the image, it's readily recognised as one of yours. As well as bearing your usual trademarks and particular skill in "animating" these little characters as I have said often before. I did have a moment of confusion though, when pondering on this one (after something strange somebody put in my cigarette?) if I was actually seeing these little creatures all by myself and not something you intended at all. Please tell me if I need to call 000.... Enjoyed your mail, will catch you up soon :)

Natural Feature Found on a Hiking Trail, Mt. Burdell, Novato, California

This conjures up all sorts of thoughts and feelings. My first was that I was looking at an artifact of some sort, like the face on Mars. Then I saw it was California. Some might say they were similar...lol. No offense. Maybe the way you present it helps, but it's dark and ancient, kinda makes me nervous and fight/ flight all at once. I like it. -

Gorgeous. Have you ever looked at Gregory Crewdson's stuff? I have enjoyed his ideas somewhat before, this one has a similar aesthetic for me. It's one that I "relate too". Good storytelling. On another note, my apologies I have not emailed. For what it's worth, I have an incredibly hectic lifestyle right now and I want to actually sit down with an hour or so spare to actually catch up with you properly.

Hi Jack, A very enjoyable image, you do have a knack for them... There's quite a lot going on with this, a fortuitous moment to a photographer on the watch. Some would like to crop the top down to hide the cars on the left, but then you would lose that "other" layer to the image, which I for one enjoy. Apologies I haven't been around for a while. I miss the discussion, but needed to exile myself from others opinions on my work for a little while. Totally for developmental reasons, not through negative experience or such. Hope all is well. From browsing your recent stuff, it looks like you are ;)
