    Snowy Trees

Thanks Stephen and Amitai, I really appreciate constructive input like this, particularly from such good photographers. I am a huge B&W fan so I will certainly try it, I started with colour because the delicacy of the duck-egg blues was beautiful against the snow. On balance I agree about the poles and the burnt out patch is indeed not pleasant (I think I will first try some localised burning/curves or recovery in RAW as a crop might spoil the balance to my eye). Fortunately I had my camera with me when I saw ths beautiful light

flooding through the red glass at Birmingham's National Exhibition

Centre. Your critiques and ratings would be very welcome!

Very atmospheric. I love this. I would have preferred to see the cool tone in the foreground as well as the sky but it's a gorgeous image anyway.

Gorgeous tones and movement in the sea. The composition might doesn't quite work for me; the space on the right is lovely and the so is the swirling water on the left, but together they detract from eachother (if that makes sense!). Still great though.

Agree with Brad ... nice photo of a beautiful scene; really makes you want to be there ... crop would help to draw attention to the path and the cleft in the hill. Also, is there a tad too much magenta perhaps? Maybe benefit from warming a little.

The post-production work is effective in focussing the eye on this beautiful composition, although the black space top right gives a bit of an articicial feel as the light is coming from that direction on to the screen. Still a great picture though; it's the naughty look and grubby face that's the icing on the cake for me.
