honestly, the question is a bit confusing.what do you mean by correct exposure. obviously, you could get different readings at different AF points, as the light could be different. there is no rule that at AF gird should see the same ev's.
If you really have a doubt about exposure readings, you need to check with 50% gray paper and compare with different settings. Keep ISO 100 fixed for comparisons and focal length 50 mm.

There are always conservatives who resist change. Since, the 3d photography has not yet reached to the level of consumers. It is way far away for the 2d photography to end. but, it is a good point. need to think about 3d photography.

Nikon 18-200mm VR lens. This is one of the good lenses which will serve all purpose. You dont have to buy another lens for a very very long time.

D90 have many features.
upgrade to D300 or D300s. why dont you rather upgrade to FX format like D700. It might cost a more but wont have to upgrade again n again

ofcourse, it depends on the light available and what kind of lighting you have at home. I think you need to you flash for the 2nd half of the party. with TTL you will get ideal ligthing.
50 or 60 mm is ideal. Not more than iso400. For higher ISO's the quality goes down when you print it.

as you dont see it when viewing the images, it is not a serious issue. I 'guess' that the substrate of the LCD is under slight pressure in that region or may be some moisture. check on a nice sunny day. :)

photos speak 1000 words. and the truth is one cannot read such long text. :)

also shoot at small focal lengths .

try chaning the focal length too

go for 100-400 mm lens.... it is versatile and is sharpest in its zoom range compared to any other manufacturers. and will last long.

Yes, I too believe that it is an artifact of file compression/conversion algorithm. Just check the file size.

as you say by changing lenses the problem persists, so it cannot be anything to do with the lens so it has to be with the camera body. if the lens holder and the space upto mirror is smooth, then it is either the mirror and sensor. Atleast from the picture, it doesnot look like it is not a sensor problem as usually that will result in either white or black spot. so check when the mirror lifts is there anything dangling from the mirror (sth like hair behind the mirror holder). :) if not take it to the camera shop.

on first glance it looks like something to do with hood coming on the way of flash at specific focal lengths. does it happen when you use built in flash of the camera?

most DSLRs have 2 or 3 exposure. for multiple exposure (>3) you might find in pro- DSLRs.
!

I guess the RAM(memory) on your PC might be running low as well as check you C drive space as NX s/w needs loads of memory. :)

actually, touching the lens surface for small reasons will damage the coating... so as all said above.... just leave it unless you really notice it in the pictures.

nikon f100...or F5....The film camera bodies are getting cheaper n cheaper after the launch of DSLRs...as you might be aware the main issue with film cameras are the running costs.....

mostly 50mm..it goes back to history. you dont want to know :)

well... the website on a whole looks nice. The size of the picture of the cameras is good and one can feel the camera and easy to browse...
one suggestion. at the bottom of the page where the prices of the cameras are given, it might be a good idea to give a link to the discription of the cameras when someone clicks on the camera name as they are in blue.
good!!!
best of luck
