<p>Yep. Especially after a bridal show or something... I realized half of my brides from the summer had all gotten their flowers done at the same place, so I printed off 4x6 images with my proof border AND logo and mailed them to the florist to put in her books. It might not be much, but every little thing counts for word of mouth advertising!</p>

<p>...and when you have a FAN page for your business, you can watermark your low-res images and tag your clients, that way ALL of their friends know that they've been tagged and can see them too... A little free advertising never hurts! Especially if they use your image for their profile picture. {all with their consent to using the images for that purpose of course!}</p>

<p>I used the Flash version of Photobiz for about 1 1/2 yrs and really liked them. I had <strong>no</strong> problems at all. As for bad publicity, I think it's all a matter of taste. I recently switched to BluDomain and the verdict is still out on that, but like it for now.<br>
Photobiz is <em>super</em> easy to change and update also. For my first website, it really offered a nice polished look that I was really happy with.</p>

<p>I use Finao as my album company and upon receiving a book, usually have it sit around in the box for a while (day or two) before filling.... (self mounts) however... I did bring them to a bridal show, and noticed the pages warping... However, upon returning 'home' to what they were accustomed to, flattened right out.... Finao mentions that this is normal for albums to have an acclamation period, and I didn't see any other things affected, so I don't worry too much.... and as far as pricing goes... I find that their albums are mid range.<br>
Hope that helps.</p>

<p>That's the beauty of wedding photography and really ANY photography... You get completely original location images... everything changes throughout the day, so even the same local looks different at different times... I wouldn't concentrate so much on <em>recreating this effect</em> as I would <em>enjoying</em> the times when it exists for you to use... </p>

<p>Hi all..... Just wondering if any have attended the RMSP (Rocky Mountain School of Photography) and their affiliated courses held in Missoula? I've attended a couple weekend wrkshops in MSP, but am ITCHING to go to their Foundation / Career Training Workshops.... or two or three... <br>
Any feedback?</p>

<p>My tagline is 'capturing your moments...' and YES! I use the term 'Investments' on my website to where my 'collection' pricing is located. I believe when you're passionate about your services and products, people ARE indeed investing in you! Your time, your talent, your eagerness, your PRODUCT. <br>
And tag lines for galleries are tough... I have 'Hens & Chicks', 'Relationships', 'I do's', etc...</p>

<p>Heck yes! I jokingly told my husband it's the only reason I use them!!! :) Besides I can get the stuff next day because it's a 'Home State' company!!! :)</p>

<p>This is something that is now 30% of my 'speech' to my clients! My mom is a caterer and baker and numerous times I've given tips on cutting cake because the 'appointed ones' are clueless!<br>
And toting the flowers in my car with the AC on in 90 degree weather whilst the flower pinner deemed it unimportant to show up so I pinned and pinned before photo'ed and photo'ed! I think that happened.... 7 times this summer. I only booked 8 weddings as two a month are enough for me! But funny that such little things are so overlooked!</p>

I photograph out of my home as well, but as a convenience, I offer to meet at our local coffee shop, because it caters to the HIGH END in my town... Which is a GOOD thing! The girls working there know who I am and ask, are you meeting someone today?? So I feel welcome and I always buy whom ever I meet a cup of whatever they want.... A little customer service goes a long way!! :)

Here is another example of putting multiple images together to get a similar result...

I'm all into the 'retail' of my business, partly because I L*O*V*E to get presents, but not nearly as much as I like to watch people open theirs... That's kind of the idea. I want them to think... Wow, she was really busy, but she took the time to introduce herself to us and now she sent us a little 'something'.... Anyway - I don't think I'd do the DVD's or even the albums... Maybe just a dozen beautifully designed cards would do...
Thanks for the input! This isn't coming from a 'competitor's' POV, but it's nice to see how the rest tie up loose ends and make a final impression.

Red Boot Design ~ Kevin Kubota... a little spendy for my blood, but I've seen some awesome examples of those items... .

Uhm..... DEFINITELY! a professional makeup artist... kind of looks like 'America's Next Top Model'....

I guess I didn't think of it as 'drumming up more business' in that respect... I think I might have been thinking maybe on the lines of what Bob was saying... give them a little so hopefully they would consider buying more?!?
It's not something I'm die-hard on doing, but I was just exploring the possibilities... I have little things I do for the couples as a 'Thank You', but I thought it would be nice to do something for the parents... Especially those who 'supported' the purchase!

I'm looking for some ideas here... I'd like to send some sort of something to the Bride and Groom's parents
after the wedding... Although I haven't come up with anything that isn't too cheesy! I thought about a little
(3x3) album, but I thought that would deter the 'parent' album purchase from later on...
Thank You cards? Too generic? A gift certificate for something later on? My thought would be to give them
something to pass around (cards) to perspective buyers from me on their behalf. i.e. Christmas/Holiday cards,
etc...
Does anyone else do that sort of thing??

Ray - yours takes the cake... sorry, B-A-D pun. terrible. I don't ever want to know what you felt that day!

From a clients perspective.... I don't think I'd like textures on 'a lot' of images I received from my photographer... But if they showed me an image like above from Kenzi, and suggested... Hey, wouldn't this look completely awesome as a huge canvas?? I would love it.
As mutually agreed upon... To each his own!

Do you give other vendors copies of your pictures for free?
