1.
I’ve just come back from viewing 10 art photos, printed on Epsom Professional Paper, each measuring 100 × 150cm each. They were rolled up and stored in extendable portfolio tubes, in which they were originally delivered in.
It turns out they are quite valuable and the person who owns them asked me for advice on what the best way to store them flat would be.
I suggested getting them mounted onto aluminium, with a thin protective matt coating. This would get them flat again plus also give the option for hanging / cleaning in the future.
Any advice on other ways on getting them and storing them flat would be greatly appreciated. How would a gallery or museum store unframed photographic work over a long period of time? Budget isn’t really a massive concern for the collector so all suggestions are welcome.
Many Thanks in advance.

  2. Hi,

I'm going to be doing a series of interior shots in abandoned rooms (not very big) and after a

conversation with a friend, I'm a bit confused as to which aperture to use.

Basically he explained that my lens would probably perform at it's best at around F16 and that F22

might look too sharp and would also be stretching the lens' capabilities. Please can someone help

me on this? I just assumed that I should be going for depth of field to try and get everything in

    focus!

    I'm using a Hasselblad 500CM with the 80mm F2.8 T* lens & a tripod. The film is Portra NC 160 /

    400 (light isn't always good).

I've only got one chance to take these shots as the place is getting demolished very soon!

The other question is can you possibly recommend any photographers who have done atmospheric

interior shots? I'm not after lifestyle magazine style, but really want to capture the essence of the

rooms. Any 6x6 reference shots for metering or inspiration would really help.

    Thank you for your time.

  3. Hi there,

The back control wheel on my Eos 3 doesn't click anymore and turns freely, sometimes changing the

aperture with my face when I take a photo!

Apart from getting it serviced-can you these days?- is there a way I can use a function that will allow me

to control the aperture with another button whilst turning the one for the shutter speed?

I really want to still be able to use the camera on fully manual and not AV mode.

    Thanks for your help.

  4. Hi there,

I'd like to use my 580ex flash with the 500cm tomorrow at a dance. Will probably use some 400 & 800 iso

    Portra NC.

I was wondering if there is a limit to the shutter speed I can use on the camera - is it possible to fire it

too fast and therefore not catch the flash? Is there a synch speed as such?

Should I have the lever to the left of my 80mm f2.8 set to X?

And when shooting without flash is it safe to keep it at X or will having it on M affect anything?

Also, is there a good web page to show me how to meter for flash in relation the the ambient light please?

Kinda nervous about doing it with film... I just want a bit of fill really and don't want to burn everything

    out!!

Any tips or advice are very welcome if you have any!

Thanks for your help in advance.

  5. Hi there,

I'd like to take some closer portraits and have just been given an extension tube 8, which I hear are rather

    expensive, so am very happy!

    I use the 80mm f2.8 T* lens and a 500CM with 400ASA Portra NC.

My question is how do I meter for using the tube? Is there a rule of thumb or is the loss of light minimal?

And do you have any advice that may come in useful for when using extension tubes please? (I've already

been warned about not taking it off before cocking the shutter...)

    Many thanks and Happy Easter!

  6. Hi there,

I just bought my first Hasselblad & have never used medium format before, so please forgive my

    questions!

The 80mm T* lens seems to be focussing a bit closer than it says it should (it says 3feet) and the

viewfinder doesn't appear to be pin sharp on faraway objects (12-15 meters away) when I'm looking

through the fine focus eye piece that flips up. Is that normal and should I assume that the faraway objects

will be in focus - or might I need a repair job done?

What the green numbers and red numbers are on the lens? I know what B means! Can I use the other

    numbers at all?

Should I have the lens set on V X or M?

I'm using a Sekonic L308B meter. Is that a good one to use for this camera?

What is the little lever between where it says "Synchro" and "Compur"?

Anything else you think would be good to know at all?

Many thanks for your patience and time.

    Very Best Wishes

    Anthony
