This is a very dramatic capture not in line with what one is used seeing when this subject is being photographed. The subdued colors and the contrast between the moving water in the foreground and the frozen motion in the background add to the viewer's interest. Congratulations.

I love the colors. Unfortunately there is too much black mostly on the left and lower left, where there is no detail. But maybe that was the intent.

Awesome "mood", great play with light and shadow, I wish the top of her hat was left intact though.

Judging from this photo, you are on the right track. Nice subject, sufficient detail in the foreground dark area, tree nicely placed off center. Not so sure about the bluish tones which are dominant in this photo, but certainly a good start. Good luck and show us more.

Lynne, the image is very inspiring, I like the contrast between the yellow and the grey areas. If I was the creator though, I would have in this case opted for a perfectly symmetrical composition which would have eliminated some of the darkness in the bottom right hand side of the image.
