    Any direction

I really like this: atmosphere in spades, positioning of the three people is just of the right moment. The sweep of the tracks from bottom left into the picture and then obscured by the guy closest to us is superb. I'm not sure if this was a grab shot, or something you patiently waited on, however, whichever, it was worth it. Finally my only reservations are:- I would crop the top to the second gantry - to make the image slightly more rectangular and emphasise the guys; and - maybe - burn in the sky and corners a touch. Regards Ian

This is nice and has lots of potential I believe. It's a 'feelgood' portrait too. I would like to see her against just the one background(ie. the B&W diamond pattern) and the gap in her sleeve right revealing some black under garment is little distracting. Well worth pursuing though as the young lady is very photogenic and the lighting is lovely.
  1. Hi Mark,

things kind of seem wrong here; and I like that about this image: So used to seeing these envelopes against blue skies, sea, or beaches, so it's different - landscape background with hi-tech subject. The composition is good too.

Thanks for comments, much appreciated. About the image being a little too dark - I do take your point; it may to do with differing monitors though, as it just about right viewed on my screen. Regards Ian

One of my monochromatic picture from uphill, Please comment if you

feel you can as I'm hoping to gauge whether I'm going to continue with

    this style. Many thanks, Ian

  2. I like this one from your bulb pictures, It has a fresh appearance, drama - as in a release of tension. Your focusing is good too. Although a colour shot it retains many monochromatic qualities. The central framing of the screw thread is fine with me as the dispersal of fragments lift the composition.
