One of the things I love about this photo is that you can actually see the silky texture of the rose petals, which I don't think I've ever noticed in a photograph of a flower before.

Not sure exactly why, but this is one of my all-time favorite shots that I've taken.

The fact that the hair covers more than half the frame and that it is almost pure black (contrasted against the very bright skin) is what makes this photograph fantastic. The only thing I might change (which you can still do!) is to adjust the few stray hairs stretching over the skin. Wonderful idea!!!

Love to see a proper exposure of the moon. This one's spot on! Good job!

Beautiful photo, but the moon is overexposed. I believe it it imperative that any photo that contains the moon be properly exposed.

Great photograph. Beautiful!
The quality of the digital file is quite poor, however. Don't know how the scan turned out, but my guess is that you used too much compression when you saved the JPEG file. That's how it looks anyway, based on the sky in particular.

I wish you had uploaded a bit larger image, though.
I think I would have liked a little bit wider shot so there was a little more space above the plane and so that we saw a little more of the city (my main interest) in the bottom of the frame. Also, that would've shown us a bit more of the "shafts" coming in from the side, which would be fine.

The most common problem in photos with the moon is overexposure. Here, you exposed for nighttime, but you should have exposed for daylight. Would've been a nice shot, but the overexposure ruins it.

The most common problem with photographs containing the moon is that they're overexposed, losing all detail in the moon. In this case, I would say the moon is a tad underexposed. The rest of the image would have also benefitted from the additional exposure. This is certainly better, though, than blowing out the highlights. The camera you used makes this photograph impressive, however. It's tough, at times, to get a good, in-focus image with the Dimage, especially when it's dark out. The framing and reflection on the water are excellent! Good job.

Regarding the out-of-focus orange plastic fence, that is probably my single favorite component of this shot. I probably just would've chucked the slide without it. The position (i.e., pose) of the crewman and the slightly blurry F-16 in the background just top it off. This is probably one of my all-time favorite shots.

However, I would've liked to have seen a little shorter exposure so that the area around the sun isn't so washed out. Great image anyway.

Great old-fashioned look!

Good job getting the shutter speed high enough to render the bike sharp, but low enough to blur the wheels and background.

I think the reason I like this photo so much is how it first appeared to me.
The background looked like glassy water with a bright light focused right behind the bird. The branch on which the bird is pearched appeared to be the bird's shadow on the surface of the water. That looked very cool. Then I saw what it really was.
Having to take a second look is why I like it so much. It's quite abstract (or can appear so at first glance). I think the image size is fine and the space is fine, etc., etc., etc. Forget the "rules." This is a nice photo.
