1.
I am getting ready to attempt my own wet plate camera. What is the best wood to survive and not rot from all of that dripping silver nitrate? I heard poplar is great for large format cameras, but that is warps a lot from heat and moisture... so that sounds like it may be a disaster waiting to happen. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

 2.
I just got a Microtek i900... its a great scanner, but I am having problems scanning black and white film (specifically Bergger 200). The only negative film profiles included are for C-41 films... the problem is bergger 200 is a very thin and delicate film, so when it scans the film it tends to crazy overexpose (thinking it has to make it through that dense orange mask C-41 films have) and the result is total loss of detail in any dark tones or shadows. I have searched but cannot find a profile anywhere? Any suggestions or help?

 3.
I don't actually use the hot shoe to fire it... I always hand hold the flash and use a sync cord to connect it to my hasselblad. But I am guessing if the trigger on the flash and the sync cord don't make it fire, the hot shoe won't either. But I will have to check.

 4.
I have been using the Vivitar 285HV flash and have absolutely loved it. One day I went to use it and it wouldn't fire. It will charge up... but pressing the firing button or trying to fire it with a sync cord are not working. Has anyone had this problem before? Nothing happened to the flash like water damage or anything. One day it was working and the next day it stopped. I don't what happed. Any thoughts?
