If you go to this website , www.syntaxgroups.com , you will see that they now own the Vivitar brand . You can get the imformation and specs about this lens .

Download the latest version of Nikon Transfer from the Nikon web page . Its free and you can configure it to open Photoshop after transfer is complete .

Unfortunately plan B will entail a trip to a Nikon repair shop. Sorry

Just look at the top edge of the mirror . If there is a dark smug or scum along the edge this could be the old foam falling apart . Just clean the mirror and replace the foam . I did my FE with the kit from Interslice total cost I believe was $11.00 to replace all seals and foam .

I own a D1h and love the small file size and the fact that it autofocuses with any autofocus lens and will meter with any Ai mount lens . However the fact that it only has 2.7 mpixels means you are very limited in how much you can crop an image . For a budget of $500 to about $700 you could get a D2h or even a D200 , both of which can use just about any Nikon lens also .

Try an outfit called Trek/Tech , They make several models of walking stick/mononpod .

I don't have the Sigma 28mm , but my nikon 18-70mm does the same thing if i manually focus ,and on auto focus stops dead on the mark . I don't think this is a problem .

If you go to this web site www.manuals2go.com , they have copies of the service manual for the FE , not too expensive , lots of diagrams and they are available as a download .

The sb-15 can also do bounce flash and it uses cheaper AA bateries .

-

How about the nikon SB-15 . Fairly compact and works well with the FE and Fm cameras .No longer in production but can be found relatively cheap .

-

I could be mistaken but I think when you send a camera in for service Nikon may clean it as part of the process of checking it out .

Try this web page , http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/NikonRepair/message/6761 . I had this problem on my FE when it was about twenety years old and thought it was all done .

I have the sb-50dx . Not as powerful as the sb-28 or sb-800 , but it will work with the D-100 but I don't think it works on the D-200 as a main flash , but it does have a slave mode that will work with the D-200 built in flash , just not CLS .
-
Of the three cameras you mentioned I believe only the D200 will meter with your older lenses .
-
I was just on the auction site and there were several used D-200s going for 659.00 with a 30day warranty. The advantage to the D-200 is that it will meter with your old lenses I don't know if the D90 will .

Don't forget that if you sell to a reseller you ill get substantily less as they want to make a profit and most of them also offer some type of guarantee which must also be figured in .

I am Just curious , Why would you spend roughly $2700.00 on a camera and try to save maybe a $100.00 on cards that would possibly downgrade the camera's performance ?
-
If you go to the B&H web site and add the D200 to your shopping cart it shows a corrected price of $979.00 .I believe it has something todo with authorized dealers nad the MSRP .
-
If the battery is bulging , it could be a sign of overcharging . I would have the battery caharger checked out also .

I have a nikon FE and all of these screens will fit . The B2 I have used without exposure compensation , but I beleive you have to compensate with the B3 sreen . Both however should give a brighter image in the viewscreen .

If you can't change the usb setting does this mean it can't be used with Nikon Camera Control?
-
I recently came into possession of this lens . It seems to take decent photos , but I can't seem to find much info on
it . Has any one here had any experience with this lens?
-
If the dust does show up in pictures , couldn't it just be removed in post processing ?
-
At one time I had the same setup and used it for sometime with no problems .Before that I used the 283 with a nikon FE and had no trouble either .
does the D300 offer any in screen grid for framing 8x10
