  1. I have studied exposure, metering, lighting, extensively, i dont think it matters how much i study it, i think its all trial and error, practice, experience, BUT my oly IS NOT performing as it says it will with the ISO. When I try to bounce flash, I am getting actually a darker photo, possibility the ceiling is too high? I dont even bother to try and bounce flash if the ceiling is dark colored.
  2. Hello all, I am new to wedding photography just this year, and have just finished my 3rd wedding. All of my clients

have been very very happy, but im not. I study other photograhpers photos, and their church and reception exposure

is wonderful, images crisp and clear. My main problem in the church is photographing the wedding party coming

down the isle, this is a fast paced thing, and im either getting slight blur or over and/or under exposure. Receptions

are another thing, when the lights go off and the dancing begins.

I am using just an Olympus e510, and I am finding, despite what oly claims that an iso of 400 in church is just way

    too much noise. Any suggestions?<div>00Qbzh-66628084.jpg.c3a6ea9fa4efe500bce7a6462ebbee5f.jpg</div>

  3. I took this photo with my e510, no flash, no tripod, yet i could not get good focused photos of this ferris wheel while it

was moving, even with a fast shutter speed, any ideas?<div>00QGyU-59357584.jpg.9599f7198fc4bd04ae3da7cde4949cad.jpg</div>

  4. Hope someone can help me tonight. I went to the rehearsal today, i took pics of

the wedding party walking down the isle, BLURRY, I am using, and have at my

disposal, 40-150mm lens and the 14-42mm lens. I got home and was

horrified...took on auto mostly. which lens is the best to use? and I am thinking I

should use manual with flash (promaster), but i notice when using flash in manual

with a high shutter speed, i have to set the wb to "cloudy"....any advice...please?

    lol....i need mega help

  5. i also just read in my oly manual (not the one that came with the camera), when using flash or strobe outdoors, use the cloudy wb setting , im going to give it a try.
  6. any pros out there who can give me advice on what lens are best to have for

    weddings?

Also, for "action" shots, movement, which focusing method is better? ive had

trouble with that. When there is constant movement, say, dancing, and i want to

take , say 3 continuous shots in a row, the second two come out blurry. Any

    advice?

  7. okay i got a hotshoe adaptor for the power pack, 3 strobes, NOW, how do i get

proper exposure from my olympus? if it says exposure is okay, then of course my

photos are WAY overexposed using the strobes, any suggestions?

  8. A friend gave me an old novatron 3 light strobe kit, with power pack which i

know nothing about. each light has a constant bulb, with a flash bulb behind

it. there is no plug in for the cord on the e510, a friend told me to get a

slave. someone else says i need a 2-part slave, one that fits on the shoe of

the camera, the other part fits on the power pack...im confused and have no

idea what to buy, can anyone help?

  9. The other night i was trying to shoot some downtown pics and pics of the lunar

eclipse, no matter what i put my settings on (A,P, S) it would not take the

pic. Now I am just learning about Fstops and all that stuff, but what do you

suggest? I ended up going inside to get my sony cyber H-2, which got a great

shot of the eclipse, but i love my Oly and want to learn the settings for no

    light or low light.

Tomorrow I am going to a birthday party at a bar, im sure it will be very low

light, what settings should I use? I would appreciate your help, thanks!!

  10. I just bought my first dslr, and I am painfully learning how to use it, the

store manager gave me the Promaster 5750DX Flash unit to use with my evolt. I

have never used a flash like this, so help me out.

Yesterday when i used it, sometimes it would fire, sometimes it wouldnt.

Sometimes only one flash would fire and not the other. Am I doing something

wrong? And can someone suggest a website that may teach me how to use these

kind of flashes? And are these even compatible?
