    umbrella

I figured people wouldn't know what it was and by telling them it's an umbrella, they would think, "oh, that's an interesting perspective of an umbrella."

    1/40 sec, iso 800, f/2.8

I should have experimented with more DOF, but with out the luxury of a tripod and being that this was indoors, I didn't have much of a choice. But, I'll got back and try it again. This time with a tripod.

Thanks for the comments. Tony, your idea about using an unknown soldiers headstone would work perfectly. To have that and the headstones out of focus in the background would have been a great picture.

I wish there was a way to have the person's name removed from the

picture. I feel a little uncomfortable having it on there, like i'm

intruding on someone's family for the sake of my photography. what

do you think? I really like the photo though, it's one of my better

    shots.

    El Capitan

I know El Capitan is one of the more photographed places in Yosemite

and it's hard to not be cliche. But I liked how the mist draped the

cliff and the sun just lit the face. Next time I will probably use a

ND graduated filter to bring out more detail in the foreground. It's

    a little too dark.

I don't know what these flowers are called, but I just picked up a

pot of them at Target and took some macro shots of them.

This is a sweet picture. How did you get that red in the sky? If you cropped more of the foreground and included more of the sky it would have been perfect.
