There was a great cartoon in the New Yorker a few weeks ago, with a businessman on his knees trying to eat crumbs off the sidewalk with his mouth, saying to a pigeon on a bench, "You're right. This is hard!"
You're right, it is an especially colorful pigeon. Maybe not a city native? Or maybe one of Satan's minions with that red eye?

Well, considering that all the cars are 1990s vintage (one with the year right on the windshield,) it's a pretty good bet that it wasn't taken that long ago. But we WANT it to be older for some reason because it has that classic 50-70s look and the black and white reinforces it.

The dull color of the train looks bright compared to the black and white sky. Very nice.

A lot of people would have cropped out all that street at the bottom, but it really adds to the picture. Looks great.

These parking meters are keeping an eye on the upcoming destruction of
Coney Island, which has one more season before the landlords start the
wrecking balls. Only the Cyclone roller coaster, the Wonder Wheel, and
the Carousel are landmarked.

This could be a logo. Stripped right down to pure black and white. But what's with the McDonald's arches and the diagonal lines? They take away from the simplicity.

This is a 360 panorama of the boardwalk at Coney Island. On the gates
of the closed stores, a panorama is painted as well.

By the way, where is this taken? I was thinking second and 86th, but the sign doesn't look right, unless this was taken a long time ago. The cars look early eightyish, so maybe. Right in my neighborhood if it is.

Yes, I agree. I would have loved to have visited the towns and down the side roads, but I was on a time deadline to get to a show that was the catalyst for my grand Western trip.
I did talk to some of the people at a diner when I commented that there was nobody under 60 in the crowded diner near the ND borderSunday morning.

I like this one. The green rows really stand out.
It's as though the house is holding everything together to keep it from sliding down the hill.
