I store my negatives in acid-free paper envelopes.

I have the slides in metal slide storage boxes.

 

I don't trust ANY clear plastic holders. In Kodak's case, anyhow, I have practically found the best preservation in the original Kodak boxes and paper sleeves.

 

My daughter is a photographer, but she will not have the space to achive MY "stuff" -- she has stuff of her own, anyway.

 

That's one reason why I've pretty much digitized anything that I can, She might have room for a few disks, or such.

Beyond that, and even for the digital media, I will consign everything to the "gnawing criticism of the mice"

 

My professional images, with luck, will probably be archived by one of several such archives operated by museums.[/quoteBe sure that you use archival discs, gold based DVDs. I didn't and 2009 is gone.

How about my 2004 Epson R-D1?

I've made prints from my wife's Panasonic ZS40 with a 1 / 2.3 18MP sensor at 11X14 and they were just fine.

<p>I don't shoot concerts but I love low light photography, I'll second the Fuji X100 for that purpose. I can shoot at ISO 1600 or even 3200 and get clear, crisp shots. </p>

<p>You would get more personalized schooling and less salesmanship from your local Jr. College I would think. S</p>

<p>Better equipment will give you better pictures if you determine to bring yourself up to the level of the better equipment. I bought a camera that was way above my skill level and made that determination. I'm not there but I am on my way. </p>
