Well I agree there is not a right or wrong answer. I shot mostly in manual mode. I like to keep my ISO as low as possible to minimize noise in my shots.
Good Luck
Ron

I do not have that answer. I thought I had tried about everything this last week. I rented the 5D Mark II from LensRental.com. I would suggest you try a rental and make sure it will do what you need before dropping the 3K on the unit.
Best of Luck
RG

I shot indoor and outdoor sports including backet ball, wrestling, tennis, football, and soccer. My main lens is the canon 70-200 f2.8 IS USM lens and it has served me very well.

Hello sports fans. Here is the deal. I shot Basketball, Baseball, Football, Softball and Wrestling as a stringer for a couple of papers. I got to hot a soccer game Tuesday. Now soccer is a game I know nothing about this game. So if anyone could give me some ideas about good places to set up for action shots and anything else that might be helpful I would reall appreciate the help. My standard carry is my 30D and a 70x200mm US ISM Canon Lens.

I shot canon. I started out with a 30D and now using a 5d mark II. I went with it for one main reason I wanted the full size sensor to get all I can out of my L lens. I can say I shot side by side with Nikon and Canon shooters and most of the time you will find they are loyal to that brand because they own glass and do not want to spend the money needed to replace it.

One more quick add. Not all fields will allow you to use a flash. So be sure to check before you use it. LOL been there done that.

I shoot a lot of high school and division II sports. My primary lens is the canon 70-200 f2.8L. Yea I know it is costly, but overall the lens has severed my needs very well indoor and out door. I rented many of the lens listed above and they all do a good job. My 70-200 is by far my favorite. Best of luck with your choice I can understand the battle you are going through.
