Well done, nice location, window lighting, texture and character of wall, placement of the model. Beautiful shot.  I have not looked yet but I would like to see a tighter crop on model and window, not that there is anything wrong with this image. Cheers.

    Cars in Monterey

Frigault Laurent J, Thanks. California seems to have a number of cars that have survived for decades. I wish my old 1978 Interneation Scout II would have been stored in California.
  1. Tatiana, thanks. This is a beautiful place in Wyoming. Just North of Jackson Hole, Grand Tetons. We spent several days here, we had our camp on BLM land in Alpine Wyoming, it was about an hour an a half drive to the Moran Entrance. This is probably closer to the Moose Entrance of Grand Tetons National Park.

Hi Tatiana, thank you for your comments. I have a lot of photos from here that I will be working on. This is a unique region in Southeastern California. I am hoping to shoot here again this spring when the desert is in bloom.
  2. Wayne, thanks. This is our dog Sparkles, we adopted last December from the animal shelter, 8 years old and was nearly starved, we could see her ribs when we adopted her and she had a couple siezures (which we think may have been from malnutrition). She has nearly doubles in weight and gets really good food now and is well pampered. There are no more seizures, she gets to travel with me and got to spend this summer on the shores of Maine going for long walks on the beach playing with other dogs, splashing in the waves and sniffing for critters. This shot was more of a comical spur of the moment shot using available light. We had just bought her a couple dog toys, this ball and a stuffed Grunter plush animal toy from PetSmart. She managed to destroy Grunter in an hour having removed all Grunters stuffing and just a little longer to remove the skin from this tennis ball. She is a chewer. I attribute the quality of this shot to the dynamic range of the Canon 5D MK IV and the Canon 40 mm f/2.8.
  3. Nice composition and B&W. She looks a little afraid too or concerned, on the phone as if she is telling someone there is some stranger with a camera following me taking pictures! Of course a good photo holds our interest and will have us trying to interpret what is going on. Cheers

    ML Alaska #5

Hi Mike, I have traveled these roads. Alaska is a beautiful state and a photographers field day. On Parks Highway on the drive to Denali, I had to stop every couple miles to take photos. I am enoying your shots, happy shooting in Alaska.

    -Cheers, Mark.

Tatiana and Patrick, thanks. It was worth getting up early for that shot. Hoping to see a few more this summer. We have been getting a lot of foggy mornings the last few days. I will have to post some of those when I get a chance to download my camera and spend time on the computer.
  4. Tatiana, thanks, it was a hazy day with fog coming off ocean, I also had to reduce size and image quality to post on PN, it was a huge file. This gave the resulting Jpeg a bit of a painting look. This was shot at 600mm across more than a mile. The full image could be an interesting wall mural. I will be here a while, so I am trying different lenses and will be shooting on different days and times. I was there this morning shooting with a 200mm so I have yet to download the images. Will see what comes of this series. That's again for commenting.

    Going Home

Thanks, Chris. There was a bit of luck being at this point of a long 3 hour drive just as the sun was at the right position obscured by the bridge structure during Golden Hour at the time of year the suns alignment allows this to happen and some street photographer"s skills of having the camera handy and ready with a good sharp wide lens and quickly having the good sense to see the shot and decide to take it before the opportunity was missed.
