1.
When I try to merge to HDR Pro in CS5 I get the old CS4 dialogue box. I think the same is happening with some of the other dialogue boxes but I am not familiar enough with CS5 yet to know. Calling adobe I was on the phone for an hour to India, the only place they seemingly have any support, to a guy who had obviously never used either product and was reading notes.. he had no clue what I was talking about. I called again today twice, same deal.

  2.
Currently a Canon 5d2 owner considering making the switch because I want a full frame camera with good autofocus that costs less than $8000.
I assume this questions have been asked many times on this board but here it goes.. I am curious about when the D700 will be updated.. perhaps with more MP.. It seems like a nice machine as is though. I also assume that nobody really knows when or what upgrades would be made.. any guesstimates? I'd hate to make the switcheroo and have them announce one a month later.. thats it.

  3.
My 5d2 can have quite a struggle focusing in the low light that it's ISOs provide. Manual focus on these new cameras is not easy to get right. On my old Minolta SRT-100 it was easy. Live view can be an option but is a pain in many if not most situations. My 40D focuses MUCH better in low light than the 5D2. I suppose Canon dumbed the camera down so as not to kill the market 1DsMkiii. I have had a 5d2 since they came out and really like it but this is it's Achilles heal and is often quite frustrating. The megapixels and the ISO do no good if the picture is not in focus. Last night I was trying to use it by firelight at 2000 iso and once in a while it can focus.. using someone's profile against a dark background or something with similar contrast but it cannot focus on lips or eyes and such.. depending of the situation of course. If you are shooting at 1.4 I don't think manual focus will do given the stock focusing screen, and live view with people moving and the thing shaking if you are handholding at 10X zoom.. ugh

My friend has a Nikon D300 that can focus VERY well in very low light. I'm just sayin...

  4.
I have the 5D2 having moved to it from the 40D. It's better of course for the most part but the most noticeable difference is the lack of low light focus ability. It reminds me more of my previous Rebel xti. I believe Canon makes some other focus screens to make manual focus easier, the old ground glass or split image look. I think in real low light it would be easier just to focus manually with an old style focus screen. Will I still get the auto focus confirmation red lights if I switch to these screens? Has anyone else used these and have an opinion?
Thanks,
5.
I have iview, lightroom, bridge, photoshop.. gee what else? Adobe Camera Raw which came with photoshop of course. Well I have never used Lightroom. I don't know why certain programs have to have things imported as opposed to just opening a file, I find it an annoyance for some reason. It seems that Iview works well for previewing images right off the CF card and picking what to keep then I have to put the ones to keep in some folder somewhere, and then use bridge to use the loupe and then adobe camera raw for a tweak or two, then photoshop for more. Makes me tired just writing it. There must be a better way. I have not even figured out how to use lightroom yet, though I see lots of folks love it. The other program that I see no use for (that folks seemt to like as well) is Canon DPP. It just seems laid out poorly and runs slow.
I'd like hear of others workflows ; maybe I can simplify mine or make it more efficient.

thanks
6.
I hope Canon realizes that their response to this problem is perhaps more important than the problem itself. All eyes are on THEM. If they don't fix it fast and try to whitewash it, it won't bode well. Nikon is providing some great alternatives. I have a 5d2 in the box at home(I'll get it tonight when I get there) and will check it out. If Canon acts like there is no problem or is very slow in a proper response, I'll have no qualms about selling all my gear and switching to Nikon.
7.
I have a 40D and finally pulled the trigger on the 17-55 and have been very happy with the lenes.. Very sharp and much better than any non L's I have had. The only thing I have that may beat it is the 70-200 2.8L..

  8. I have had my 40d for about a year now, and anytime I have ever noticed dust on my sensor, the camera's sensor

cleaning has been unable to remove it. I have had to open it up and do it myself. Oh, maybe its gets some

stuff before I ever see it gets super tiny things, but s far as I can tell the auto sensor cleaning does

nothing. Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

  9. It is the kit and it is offered by Willoughby's for 500 bucks more than retail. And shipping is usually within

1 to 3 weeks. I ordered a kit, but for the real price. It seems like they are just trying to trick folks into

biting on it for 500 extra dollars, then it ships when the other ones would have anyway. Thoughts?
