Great location, great colors, nice composition. It would work even better for me if the tree were off center either to the left or the right.

I like the composition. I have two comments: First, I see a lot of reflective highlights on the haystack in the foreground. I guess adjusting the polarizer to maximize the cloud contrast also brought out those annoying reflections. Second, How did you attach a Zeiss lens to a Pentax MF body?

The elements are marvelous, particularly the water forms, lighting, and background. The way they are put together is a little confusing, though. The stream and droplets on the left compete with the sinuous flow on the right. Further, the black background on the far right is a further distraction.

 

For me, isolating the main stream of water from the drops and dark blob with a vertical crop transforms the photo from cool to really mindblowing....

I grew up in Ridgecrest (west of Trona). Your picture brought back childhood memories. Pretty weird place, isn't it?
