The other version wasn't what I wanted to illustrate, but this one's a little better, with catchlights put back into the eyes.

Great shot, with remarkable detail.
One recommendation - try to get the black back into the pupils - the copper colour in the pupils (while interesting) is the fox equivalent of red-eye in humans, and I think this shot would really snap if it didn't have red-eye.
See if you can replace that with an inky black, while keeping the three small catchlights in the fox's left pupil (they're subtle).
The catchlight on its right eye is in the coloured area of the iris, so that pupil could go completely black without losing the interest in the eye.
Although I haven't done it as well as I would have liked, check out the following to see if the eyes have a bit more soul.
