I was fairly close to the subject (too close, in fact) when this

photo was taken. I especially like the eyes and the detail in the

fur around the face. The photo is cropped slightly to center the

interest on only the face. Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

to get that close to a fox, and capture that much detail, you were the still life! VERY NICE...

Great shot, with remarkable detail.

One recommendation - try to get the black back into the pupils - the copper colour in the pupils (while interesting) is the fox equivalent of red-eye in humans, and I think this shot would really snap if it didn't have red-eye.

See if you can replace that with an inky black, while keeping the three small catchlights in the fox's left pupil (they're subtle).

The catchlight on its right eye is in the coloured area of the iris, so that pupil could go completely black without losing the interest in the eye.

Although I haven't done it as well as I would have liked, check out the following to see if the eyes have a bit more soul.

The other version wasn't what I wanted to illustrate, but this one's a little better, with catchlights put back into the eyes.

A superb image John. Very nice detail and composition. I agree with the critique about the eyes but it is really easily fixed in PS....
