Oooooo wait, I see Canon gives a 400.00 rebate if you buy the Pixma9000 with the camera. The printer is $400.00 so basicaly you get it for free. I see on ebay they go for about $350.00 sooooooooo you know I am thinking :)

I just checked B and H website, looks like its $2199.00 +tax

A 7D for less money? Interesting

I am trying to decide between the 5D and 40D. I do mostly street photography.

My 30D is no more (its a long story) anyway, I read the specs on both and

unless I am missing something the 6fps and one thousand bucks is the biggest

difference. I would appreciate your advice

Hi-Thats what I was hoping to do. Use the laptop for now and possibly within the next 6 months get a dedicated IMac for my serious work. For now I am thinking I can get by with the regular macbook and the memory upgrade. I remember my titanium MAcbook pro I did find a bit heavy to carry around.

Let me clarify what I mean be the extra monitor: I dont have a desktop at all so I would use the laptop for editing in my office with a pro monitor and use the laptop as a portable for field work as it is.

Ok I am thinking of going with a MacBook. I was going to get a Dell (Mainly

because we have an account with them) but I have decided to go Apple. I

actually had a MacBook Pro last year that was stolen......Anyway, I was just

comparing the Pro to the regular MacBook. Do you guys think a regular MacBook

would suffice for portable use and photo-shop work with a seperate monitor? I

would get the Memory upgrade to 2g and other then the titanium body and 2 more

inches on the screen I dont see all that difference. I would love to hear some

of your opinions. Thanks

I actually had bootcamp before on my last mac last year, it was a pain to switch on and off to go between windows and mac, however parallels sounds like it may be effective. I will check it out.

I read so much about the over abundance of photographers and photography majors

and the competition. I know several MFA grads who wound up going into teaching

to earn a living because they couldnt otherwise.

My question is, can one earn a six figure income in photography, and which area

of expertise are more profitable ?

I know, believe me I would much rather get a MacBook Pro, but the problem is I am a real estate agent who is also a struggling photographer and Macs just do not work with real estate and MLS software. Dell has a pricer screen upgrade for their laptos I think its called "true life" or something, so I was wondering if I be better off with that

Ok, I would much rather buy a MAC, but because of the work I do and the

applications I use, I am stuck with a PC for now. I want to buy the ultimate

DELL mobile laptop for working with digital photos and photoshop. What would

you reccomend? Bear in mind, I need to carry this around so I cant go too

heavy. And it has to be a DELL because we have an account with them :)
