1.
Do any folks here get their lenses professionally checked? I’ve noticed recently that one of my favorite work horse lenses is not as sharp as I believe it once was. It’s long past its under warranty phase but certainly not ready for retirement. Anyone know how the Nikon process works and is that the best way to go? This is a first for me, thanks in advance for the advice.

 2.
I love my Sigma 30mm f1.4 but only after I adjusted for a significant back focus problem. My friend who also owns this lens alerted me to it. The D300 has this adjustment option, not sure about other bodies.

My suggestion to owners of this lens - test it out. I did wide open by focusing on a small portion of a ruler and noticed more sharpness in back of my chosen focus point. I made the adjustment in camera and now it's perfect.

 3.
I’ve been away from our Wednesday thing for a few weeks and just caught up. Amazing work everyone, inspirational. I came upon an Anti Cap & Trade rally, downtown NYC, got in very close and shot with a super-wide lens while the flag was hitting my face. Nikon D300 & Tokina 11-16 f2.8.

00XQlb-287757684.jpg.b04762e4635e706aded1eb52e2066101.jpg

 5.
Just a wild bunny I saw hopping around next to a paring lot. Luckily I had the big zoom on my camera and pointed it out my car window. Not bad for a point and shoot. After I took the shot and saw it on the monitor, I knew that I at least had "something" for this Nikon Wednesday thing we do.
