I purchased all of my adapters from Happypagehk and have had great service and quality.

if you do landscape photography the hoya moose filter is excellent. it is a combined circ pol with a 81a warm up filter. the pol may add a blue hue to foilage so the warm up filter brings the green back. Lightroom has a neutral gradient filter feature so polarizing is probably the only thing that can't be done in post processing.

I have been very pleased with the Zeiss Mirotar 500mm/f8. Sturdy construction and excellent quality. However my use of it has been mainly moon shots so I can't comment on other uses.

I am not sure if you can half your shutter speed but it certainly makes for better IQ with slow shutter speed shots. The monopod can also give your arms a rest on long shoots like at a rugby game etc. A tripod is definitely better to stablize the camera and cut your shutter speed by half but in the times where portability is more important than a monopod is beneficial. I use mine as a walking stick while hiking.

it is a fairly popular scam. never ever send your item to an address different from the paypal account address. you could try to list it here.

I just tried it on my 40D and in both caes it is the wheel near the shutter that scrolls through the photos or is used to change the K value.

-

Ed is correct. Once you press the jump button you can use the thumbwheel to select how many photos you want to jump. the main dial - the wheel near the shutter is then used to scroll through the photos.

i upgraded my XT to a 40D and was glad that I did. As others have suggested that may be your most economical upgrade at the moment. Good luck.

I believe this program is only available in the USA.

-

you are correct JDM

-

the 1400 was probably the original list price, after the 50D came out you can be sure that the 40D was cheaper.

do some more searching, I am not even sure that the 40D is still available. one store in Ottawa still has a 10D with grip for sale @ 899 - who would pay that?

second the uv haze.

Enjoy your family....they grow so fast.

did the same upgrade last year and have been glad that I did. The controls of the 40D imho are much better than the XT. However if you like the small size of the XT then you may want to look at the Ti1.

Interestingly, I have two of these 28mm lenses, one has the lug, the other does not, and does not have screw holes where a lug should be either.

one is a AE lens and the other is a MM lens. The MM lens should have the smallest aperture written in green. it is for cameras with "P" mode. the other lens was made before Contax had P mode cameras. fwik.

interesting combo. I wonder how well the AF would work with the 2x converter? I have thought about the 200/2.8 with a 2x converter also.

no resizing? that is great and will save me a lot of time and disk space. thanks.

what metering method are you using? i.e. spot, evaluative etc...

-

on the 40D you have to enable master/slave flash through the camera menu

the Zeiss 28/2.8 in CY mount is my favourite lens for landscapes. out of all of my older contax lenses this one gets the most use.
