1.
Hi Jason. When I cut I put the last bit of film in between my pointing and middle finger with the reel on the other side of my fingers trying to get it as straight as possible and then cut along my fingers, obviously as carefully as possible. Loading film is all about practise. Once you have done it a few times, it will be like riding a bike. Hopefully I have made some sense. Kind regards Cherene

  2. Hi I wanted to view my portfolio in slide shows but no images were coming up. I tried changing something, not

sure what it was in some drop down box and now my whole site has changed and I now have no images at all in my

site. I am trying to get back to "view pictures in slide show" to change it back but I cannot find my way back

to that option. Please help. Thank you. Cherene Kelly

  3.
Hi Q.G.
I have followed your instructions but have had no luck. The winding knob is stuck half way and of course the lense is stuck. I think I will have to take it to a professional to take a look. Thanks for your help. Regards Cherene

  4.
Hi
Thank you for the responses. I will try your suggestion tomorrow Q.G. But right now here in South Africa, New Years is only 3.5 hours away. Will let you know how it goes tomorrow. Happy New Year!

  5.
Hi. My 500cm is jammed. I was using two magazines and finished one roll of film. I then changed lenses and put the other magazine on. I took one shot with that roll of film and went to advance the film and the camera froze half way through the action. The mirror is up and the curtain is open and the lense's shutter is closed. I cannot advance the camera nor take the lense off. I have tried to turn the crank screw and take take the lense off at the same time, but no go. Please help!! Thanks in advance and a very Happy New Year.

  6.
Hi Val

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and preferences when it comes to art. Doing photography as a hobby only I cannot really comment on your question however I have a dark room and process and print all my own black and white negatives. We have had a problem in South Africa of acquiring the chemicals. I googled formulas and managed to get the raw chemicals and mixed them myself (you don't have to be a rocket scientist) Second hand dark room equipment is readily available and cheap. There are also many alternative processes that you can use to make your work unique. ie lith printing (my favourite) split toning, bromide, van dyke etc. Also the final print on fibre based paper, in my opinion, has a certain feel and look that your customers should notice. However I am bias towards film as I love my time in the dark room. Good luck with your endeavours and don't give up on film just yet.
Kind regards
Cherene
