  4. My wife and I love to hike; this was taken at nearby Kaaterskill Fall NY, in the Catskill Mountains.

    Vision

For a photography class I'm teaching, to open a lesson on how to see.
  6. DB measurement doesn’t take into account frequency, I believe. 10 dB at 16,000 hz sounds different to many people (i.e. old people :-) as opposed to 10 db at 4000 Hz. I recently thought of this using my Fuji Xe1 and Xt3 (totally quiet!) and thought of the old days using M2’s and M3’s. Very interesting subject. Always cough right after you press the shutter.

    Nude #1

First foray into figure photography, Mamiya C2, 80mm, Tri-X.
  12. Thanks, Robin. I took it during my "full negative, no cropping" period :-). But next time when printing I'll take your advice. BTW, you have some very nice stuff on your photo.net page.

    Susan

Beginning of career using Mamiya C2, 135mm lens, Tri-X. Susan was neighbor's daughter and very photogenic.
  14. This is not an attempt at capturing anything more than a slice of life. I prefer B&W, most of the time, and am not too concerned about technical details. Is this an original idea? Of course not. It’s just an example of a photographer wandering the streets of Spanish Harlem trying to tell a story.

    Sam

Thanks to both of you. The National Geographic cover was shot by Steve McCurry, around 1972 I think. My shot was taken around 1963, before color film was invented :-). The data says taken with a Fuji, but that’s the camera I used to scan negative, originally shot with a Pentax, 105mm lens, and Tri-X.
  16. Whoops. My mistake. I remember the song well but mistook the artists.

    Ice tug

Went down to Hudson River to shoot tugs. One by one, eight tugs and/or ships came by.
