Hi,

Hi
D300 wonderfull camera I bought a week before and yesterday I had the chance to try in the fundraising party with low light atmosphere, some shots turn out pretty good I would say, though using flash needs to do some touching.
My actual question is I had my battery fully charge over night but on the party night after 180 frames my battery is finished half way. That seems lot faster than my previous D70s battery which used to last pretty long time.
So is it normal that D300 battery does not last long, so will be force to buy a grib battery or is the my camera battery needs to change but as I mention above bought the camera week before thought used but not used very long 3000 frames by previous owner.
Any idea?

I got the same question today and sorry to cut in.
Ok I opened the file and all the detail came out but could not find the number of shutter actuations on my used D300 which I bought yesterday. Could you please what to look for?
I appreciate you help and I got 1 week to return the camera.
Tks

Ok, yesterday I bought used D300 which I have been eyeing for quiet some time after using D70s for couple of years and I thought needs to upgrade to catch up with rest of the world.
Any way I have 7 days to return if I don't like or some thing. Body is great feeling, the screen is beautifull with I don't need to struggle like I used to with D70s not that i don't like D70s it is great. Hopefully I made right decision buying this used camera.
Question is I need to check how many pictures taken by the previous owner. So how do check?
Thanks in advance

Hi everyone,
I am trying to get Nikon 17-55 used for $900 & change to be with my D70s.
My question is how good is it for photojournalist like I take lots of street protests and some time stage programs with very poor lights.
2nd question how secure is it to buy in ebay this days. I mean the guys wants me to pay by paypal or money order. Lots of feedbacks but I don't trust those feedbacks.
He said used for about 10 months, the lense is in very good condition thought without the front glass cap. no big deal.
Need some suggestion from the members. I appreciate your help.
Thanks

Hi, I am trying to figure out the difference between Photoshop and Lightroom 2.
$ seems alot difference but don't about usage.
I don't do major editing on my pictures but just simple editing like crop, sharpning, maybe some lightings etc etc.
Could anybody help.
Tks

-

Well! I mostly do street protests, day or night.
And some time if possible I would do indoor sports also.
Main reason is for the back screen that I can't be see clear enough if i have taken sharp enough or not, unless I zoom it that will take up my time.
The higher iso seems to give me some noise also, which means bad weather day will be my off day for photography.
And I usually convert my color pictures to b/w and D90 seems to have a 4 color mode like monochrome, which will same me lots of time on my pc.

I have this D70s and have been using this camera for quiet some times but I have thinking to upgrade it to D90.
Can anybody suggest if it is worth it or not. Why?
Remember I can't afford to spend more than $900.
Tks for your suggestion.

Hi
As photojournalism interested would like to ask question?
As I know both Nikon and Canon camera and lences are best of all.
I have being using Nikon D70s for 3 years now and I would say I am satisfied but thinking of upgrading one step up, and also thinking of switching to Canon 40 or 50D which give me better view on screen and ofcus more mp.
Many people say Nikon is good, but why do I see most of the Pro photojournalist use Canon more than Nikon? Does it mean Canon is better for photojournalism and documentary?
Thanks for your responses.

Hi,
I have Epson printer 2200.
I have been trying to print my photos into black and white but the print does not seem correct.
though the I have changed the color to b/w but color seems bit reddish, I tried every thing but no success.
Is there any way to print into proper black/white besides buying a pro b/w printer?
Please help.

Hi James Lucky you!
1. Asia is large continent, so it depends where you going.
SE Asia no problem for tourist but South Asia like India so on, travel light and dirty means 1 body 2 lens but make sure you carry cleaning stuff cus it is dusty every where.
2. Don't forget to keep your cash and Passport in another small PP bag that goes around your neck and inside your T Shirt .
3. Keep your camera around your neck every single minute.
4. No Fancy looking bags or any things that looks new to them.
5. Kids are angles but sometimes they could be monsters too.
6. Don't forget to take some of your medication cus some of the medication is much stronger then you have.
7. Have a save journey and hope to see your pictures after you come back.

Thanks Ging. But I am sure there lots of people who does full job as documentary photographer. How do they live up?
I know money should not be first priority but need some cash to cover up the expenses to do more meaningfull things.

Hi Guys
As documentary photography is alway for somebody, which means helping somebody
for being in bad situation or end of life.
But if the photographer is not well off financially then when does the source
of income come in, even just to survive.
Thanks guys
