black & white detail on white backdrop - comments? ratings?
-
This is a wonderful photo. Good texture, subtle colours, interesting composition. Congratulations!
-
Nice exposure length. I like the composition. The flashes of light in the upper left hand corner are a bit distracting, but over all, it's a lovely photo.
-
Nice candid.

A cheesy photo composite. The main image is soft, perhaps out of focus. The white fence in the background runs through the eyes of the superimposed face, and a dark rectangle runs through the cheek, both are distracting.
But fairs fair, so here is a photo composite that I have done:

A typical British holiday scene.

Hemsby Beach - A typical British seaside view.

Congratulations. Everything you could have done, you have done right. Shame about the shadow, but otherwise perfect.

A classic British seaside moment.

This band followed then band I was there to shoot, so I didn't take
very many pictures of them, but I think this one came out well.

Nice use of shadows!

Constructive comments & ratings welcomed.
Thanks,

Could you add a little space at the top? Your tight crop cuts off the tip of the flame.
Check out my "fire" folder:

The hand coming in to the frame on the right. Good or Bad? (I like
it.)

I like it. I know how hard it is to get good action shots, so well done. The "tracking" is good - something I personally have trouble with.
That said, I would have liked to see the bikers eyes, and I think it could have been cropped/framed better. There is little point in the space above his head, and I would have rather you hadn't cut off his shadow. I little more space in front of him might have helped as well.
Also, this kind of shot works best (especially with such a strong shadow) if you can catch it as they are in the air.
I hope you find my critique helpful.

A company (which will remain nameless) liked this picture of my son
enough to ask me if I would mind them using it to illustrate the use
of incubator equipment.
Do you think they made a good choice? Why? If not, why not?

Very "ventra portraits"!
-
As a portrait, this does nothing for me. It tells me nothing about the subject.

All constructive criticism is welcomed, but I'm most interested in
what people think of the way I've cropped this. The original had
more black background to the left, right, and a little above. Mum's
forearm could also be seen to the right, which I cropped out as I
found it distracting.
Note that this photo is "candid" not "set up", and taken hand held,
with "available light".

Good sence of depth, & colour.

Please rate & comment this, and/or any of my other pictures.

I like this flower close up - despite the DOF 'issues'. The colour
is just how I wanted it. I wish I could get this richness of colour
when I wanted it... what do you think?
